This is a PRO product. Naturally, I was glad to see it on Amazon, and UNRESTRICTED in sales. Anyone could buy it -- it was not labelled "Professional Use Only". Eager to go into a usually "forbidden realm", I bought them.

Well, what I got wasn't too bad....or too good either. I must say, though, that the product came very well-packed -- with dry ice, and NO annoying cardboard peanuts. All to the good. However, when I got to the product, and opened the final box, I found that ALL 40 of the patties were packed into ONE huge plastic bag -- and NOT even a zip-locked bag, at that! If one has a HUGE freezer, (as most pro places do), this is not much of a problem -- but what was I to do, with my 8.5 cubic foot freezer?

Luckily, I had two zip-locked bags left over from buying TYSON Chicken patties, and one zip-locked bag from Splenda Granulated. I poured the Splenda Granulated into the blender attachment for my Magic Bullet Platinum Pro, and put all but 2 of the veal patties into this, and the two empty Tyson Chicken Bags. All 38 of the patties fit into these three bags.

The patties, frozen, are rather like ceramic tiles: hard, flat, and not very deep. They are large, however -- I would judge about 8" x 4" each. And about 1/4 inch in depth. After about 10 minutes outside of the freezer they begin to thaw out....

There is absolutely NO flavouring on these patties. After cooking -- if you put no spice on them -- the flavour is not unpleasant, but it is very, very bland. These patties are, to a master-chef, somewhat like cloth is to a couteriour; they are the basic building blocks of whatever you want to make of them. I suppose they are fun to experiment with, even for an amateur chef. Hmmmm: I wonder what would happen if I cook them until rare, then put them in the blender, and add some pizza sauce, cheese and spices, then form them into balls, and.....

These flat, plain veal patties can be compared, not just to cloth for the courtourier, but to Lego blocks for children, or a box of paints to an artist. They stir the creativity of whomever has them -- professional or amateur. With 40 of them in the box, there's a lot of material to begin experimenting with!

Don't expect these to be "ready-made fast food". YOU have to thaw them, coat them, mix them with other ingredients, etc. They are a fun starting place for the pro, or amateur cook. If you are aware of what they are, (and what they are not), you might enjoy experimenting and creating recipes with them!

My thanks to the Advance Food Company, for selling these to the widest possible audience, here on Amazon, so that amateur cooks, as well as pro, can experiment with them!

Bon Appetite!
