AH!Laska Organic Chocolate Syrup IS BETTER than the alternaives. It's not only better for you, but it also tastes better and has a thicker texture too. The ingredients speak for themselves...

H**shey's Syrup:
High Fructose Corn Syrup , Sugar , Water , Corn Syrup , Cocoa , Potassium Sorbate A Preservative , Salt , Mono- And Diglycerides From Vegetable Oil , Polysorbate 60 An Emulsifier , Xanthan Gum , Vanillin An Artificial Flavoring

Too Sweet and OddApr 30, 2012

I had been using Monin Dark Chocolate and love and flavor. Just for variety I ordered some AhLaska. What a mistake! AhLaska is way too sweet and it has some kind of odd overtone in the flavor. Sorry to say, it is at the point that it ruins anything that I put it on. So I'm giving up on the AhLaska and going back to Monin.
To help you decide whether my review relates to you, I'll tell you about my taste preferences. I like dark chocolate, not on the sweet side. I like my coffee and tea with no sugar. When it comes to ice cream, I like just about anything that's high quality and well balanced. Vanilla, chocolate, fruits and nuts are all great for me.
I hope this helps you with your selections. Bon Appetit.

This Stuff is Awesome!Mar 31, 2012
By Donovan Godfrey In another life I worked at a Trader Joe's. One of my favorite products there was a chocolate syrup that was sweetened with pure sugar (different from all the hfcs-sweetened goo out there). That product was delicious. I had to quit working there and move to a city where there was no Trader Joe's. I really missed my Moo. Ah!Laska is worlds better!
I use it mostly on ice cream. I'm sure it would be great in a variety of contexts, though I've read a couple of Amazon reviews that essentially recommend against using it for chocolate milk.
Great not having to troll around trying to find this in a local grocery store.
