1Plain SUGAR...Nov 27, 2008
By Dimasin
I've had a lot of excellent halva in my life. It's seems it would be difficult to spoil it, but not in this case. It is a disgrace to call this product a halva! Granulated Domino Sugar - yes, but not a halva. It has a lot more sugar than any other brand and all you can feel are crunchy sugar crystals when you're chewing it. Do not buy!

5Very good halva.Apr 02, 2011
By Eli "Macaroni"
Halva is not my favorite desert but this halva is very good. It is so well balanced that as as a piece melts in the mouth only a short lived fragrant smell of something like heavy rose water is senced, which is probably the halawa extract with no sugary or oily aftertaste. It is suprisingly Very Good.

3A bit too sweet. . .Jun 07, 2008

and the root extract flavor was stronger than I like. I've mixed some straight tahini with it, which improves both problems, though it needs to be really cold to make it more solid. Still, I really enjoy nibbling it.

Very very dry, but otherwise edible. I used to love Sadaf brand halvah, too bad it is no longer available!

5Tasty & addictive!Oct 10, 2007

I bought 3 kinds of Al Wadi halva (this one, pistachio; plain; and with chocolate) and the pistachio was my favorite. I wanted to find out whether the halawa extract in this product really increases breast milk production and to my delight, I pumped about double my normal amount while I was snacking on the halva a few times a day! The pistachio flavor goes very well with ground sesame seeds (tahini). This product is a somewhat dry paste, a little bit oily, and quite sweet. There is a crunch to it from the nuts and also from the sugar. The halawa extract has a bit of a bitter flavor that I find pleasant with the sweetness of the sugar and the earthiness of the nuts. I found myself craving halva rather than Little Debbies or other sweets. I would buy this product again and definitely recommend it to other breastfeeding mothers! One note though: this product will give you GAS! Lots of it! Buy a bottle of Bean-O at the pharmacy to help combat the gas - the increase in quality & quantity of milk is well worth the extra trouble.
