Great product - cheaper at Wal MartNov 04, 2009

Great product - Sugar Free just as good as regular. However, Wal Mart sells for $1.88 per 10-count box, so that is about 20% cheaper than current Amazon price.

Very Good Tasting Hot Drink Mix - Highly Recommended!Oct 25, 2009
By C. F. Hill
"CFH"
Alpine Sugar Free Spiced Cider mix is a very good tasting hot drink mix that is perfect for those looking to cut calories and carbs. I am a Type 2 diabetic and am always happy when something tastes just as good as the regular version (my wife likes Alpine Spiced Cider Original Apple Flavor Drink Mix, 10-Count Packets, 0.74-Ounce Boxes (Pack of 12)). These only have 15 calories and 4 carbs per packet!
I find that it mixes much better when you add hot water to it, instead of adding the packet into a cup of hot water.
Highly Recommended!

Love This StuffDec 10, 2010
By Donna J. Wolf Tizzano I just love this stuff. After drinking coffee all morning at work on a cold winter day, I'll switch to this sugar-free version of the spiced cider and find it so calming. You can find it at some retail stores, but the price on Amazon is comparable, plus I usually order enough to receive free shipping. The only thing I would say is to use a bigger mug than the 6-8 ounces they recommend. I just want a hint of the apple cider, not this strong overwhelming dose of it, but again, personal preference.

Misleading Labeling, Horrible for Dieting or Losing weight, causes huge insulin spikes from sugar replacement MaltodextrinFeb 05, 2012
By Kirkham Smith Really one of the worse drink mixes for dieting or losing weight.
I bought this from the good reviews and the fact that it was sugar free with only 15 calories (i'm sugar sensitive), but I never read the ingrediants and didn't realize it contains a super sugar (technically its not sugar, but basically it is) Maltodextrin, a sugar like substance with the same calorie base as suagr thats 200% more toxic and creates a bigger insulin response with just 4grams in each packet vs 25 grams in a normal sugar apple cider packet.
When I first drank this I knew there was something wrong, I immediatly got a sugar high from just 1 cup, I started to gain weight. I did some research and discovered that the company used malodextrin in place of sugar, this is 200% times worse. It has a glycemic index of 120 while sugar is only 50-60, it gives a insulin response that is equivalent to eating a quarter pound of sugar, I was crashing at work and eating more for no reason, all from the abnormally high insulin response from the malodextrin.
Maltodextrin is so toxic that it will keep your insulin levels high for 8 hours afterwards, basically everything you eat will turn to fat.
So yes its lower calorie, but the Malodextrin in it is just telling your body to eat more and turn everything into fat. Horrible, don't buy if you're trying to lose weight
On the positive, if your a bodybuilder this is a great pre workout drink, or marathon drink, as the sugar (malodexrin) will easily be absorbed into your muscles
