My only choice for toothpasteAug 20, 2009

There's another version of this which tastes too minty for me. This is the perfect one with just the right balance of baking-soda clean with a slight mint taste! ;-)
It's the only toothpaste that makes my mouth actually feel clean when I'm done brushing. Too many tame, tasteless, wimpy toothpastes make almost no difference in your mouth. Or they taste too good, like bubblegum or supermint - no way those ones clean my teeth! They taste like candy!
This one is absolutely perfect. And it does a better job.
Forget Crest or Colgate - or even those exclusive import brands my wife likes. This is The One. :)

Satisfactory.Nov 23, 2010
By Chris H. The feeling of clean I experienced after using this toothpaste for the first time practically took my breath away. In all seriousness. I brushed thoroughly, for about a minute and a half, and my mouth felt absolutely pristine. It was fantastic.
The mint flavor is very mild, which struck me when I first used it (it's pretty different than strong mint toothpaste). It's a very good balance with the freshness from the baking soda, however, and I'm quite fond of it.
I have noticed that my teeth have been somewhat sensitive lately. I'm not sure if that's due to the toothpaste or other factors, however; it's worth noting.

Wish I could give ZERO starsMar 23, 2012
By Patent Pending I have never had the sort of reaction that I did to this toothpaste. I used to really like Arm & Hammer and used it as my toothpaste of choice. I got a small sample of this exact new and improved arm & hammer toothpaste. Big mistake! I don't know what they did to it, but as soon as I used it I got HUGE sores on both sides of my tongue which made my ability to taste disappear. not to mention the extreme burned feeling i had on my tongue, like I had drunk a couple ladles of boiling hot soup. The sores were big and BURNED like nothing else, even when I was just swallowing saliva. I went to the doctor, not knowing what the cause of my sores were, and she immediately told me to switch to a natural toothpaste like Tom's or use baking soda paste. She didn't seem to differentiate between arm & hammer, colgate or crest, so I assume all of these toothpastes have some new formulations in recent years that have caused a widespread reaction among the population like this. My experience, however, is with arm & hammer's toothpaste, so I can only report on that.
It took over one month of using only baking soda (ironically, arm and hammer brand) on my teeth for the sores to heal. A couple months later, I got lazy and tried my arm and hammer sample toothpaste one night. The next morning I woke up with the eerily familiar feeling of a burned tongue and the sores forming on the sides of my tongue. It has now been 3 days since that one time use of this toothpaste, and the sores are still here. I hope it will only take the better part of a week for these sores to dissolve, since it was only a single use of this POISON. It's back to baking soda for me!
Hope this helps someone realize that your oral woes could be due to your toothpaste.

Burned tongue, swollen gums, cracks on outside of mouthJan 05, 2012
By T. Brice I am SO glad that I found these reviews. I used Arm & Hammer in the past, never had a problem. This extra whitening was on sale so thought I would try. Started experiencing dry mouth first. Woke up, tongue stuck to mouth. Then in a few days, white coated tongue, but nothing too bad. A few more days and thought I had developed what I thought was thrush. I had blisters on the inside of my mouth, cracked lips, swollen red gums, swollen tongue, burning tongue, no taste on tip and sides of tongue. I thought it was just thrush, not related to the toothpaste. My mouth was so painful, that it was hard to brush with toothpaste so I just used warm water, flossed even though I was in agony. Rinsed. Mouth started to clear up, taste on the tip and sides of my tongue started coming back, so I started using this toothpaste again, and MAN the next DAY the sores on the underside of my tongue came back!! I started to feel my tongue burn again! Outside of my mouth, corner of my lips started cracking again, I can barely talk. I searched the internet on Arm & Hammer extra whitening and these reviews came up. I am throwing the product in the TRASH! They need to place a warning on the label.

Severe allergic reaction to A&H toothpaste-----Mar 14, 2011
By Delores I had a SEVERE allergic reaction to this A&H toothpaste. I had VERY painful blisters under my tongue and the entire tongue burned, along with swollen lips like a botox injection, cracked corners of my mouth and eventually sores on my gums and inside cheeks.
My doctor swabbed me for strep, checked me for oral cancer, and then prescribed Duke's mouthwash thinking that it must be viral due to my blisters. It was horrible!
I am not a person with sensitive skin or gums and I have never had an allergic reaction to anything before.
I bought another tube just to make sure that it was the culprit..........big mistake. Two uses and I had a painful tongue and swollen lips. After checking the internet, I see that other people have suffered the same reaction.
