5Excellent shakes as always!!!Feb 20, 2009
By Tarun Chachra "Tarun Chachra"
I have been an Atkins fan for years but recently fell off the bandwagon and gained a lot of weight...due to my stupidity. I have recently gotten back on the plan and wanted something to fulfill the mid-afternoon hunger pangs and sweet tooth.

A lot of Atkins followers say that the shakes should not be used in the initial 14 day induction period as they will stall weight loss. However, I have asked various people on the Atkins site and I am told that it is not the case. You are able to consume one of these a DAY and count it towards one of your 3 sweets.... What I do is open one, have half of it around 11am and the other half around 3-4pm.

The Vanilla flavor to me tastes best since I am not a chocolate type of guy. The new Aseptic containers are a cool change away from the old aluminum cans....and honestly I think make the stuff taste better. I always have had a thing for aluminum in that it makes drinks taste metallic...sort of...hard to explain but its probably me.

Get some of these if you are on Atkins and or looking for a shake to suppliment snack time....

4Love it!Oct 15, 2008
By Carrie BallKuhbander
I was a little nervous to try this out, as most shakes I've tried just taste watered down, "fake" or too grainy. My husband and I needed something to replace our sweet tooth after dinner (we've been on the Atkin's Diet for almost a month now) and this shake was great! It tastes great super cold and even better blended with ice. The size is perfect, not too big, and not too small - it was actually bigger than we expected, and for only 1 carb per shake, it's really worth it. We even let my 11 month old try a sip and she loved it! Sometimes I throw one of these along with a Daybreak Bar into my husband's lunch and he really appreciates it. It's definitely worth a try!

1Thick glops of gooJul 05, 2011

Until recently, I've raved about Atkins shakes. Lately, I've purchased a couple of cases of them and each one has strange glops of protein that is not mixed in with the rest of the drink. It seems to occur in the vanilla flavor. The other flavors are fine. It is as if it was separated due to poor temp storage, not sure. However, Atkins needs to fix this. I miss my vanilla shakes!

1Disgusting!Jun 26, 2011
By James A. Thornton
I never tried the old formula, but the new formula is absolutely disgusting. It has lumps in it, which you cannot smoothe out, no matter how much you shake the container. I finally took a blender and got the lumps out -- but the taste was still abysmal. If Atkins keeps "improving the formula", they may save money on the cost of the product, but they'll go bankrupt because no one will buy it. ESA, here I come.

1What were they thinking?Jun 03, 2009
By Kat McPhoenix
I don't mind them redesigning the container, but why did they reformulate the contents? The old Atkins shakes had a taste and texture that was creamy and deliciously decadent, and satisfied me for several hours. The new formula has less calories and more carbs (doesn't that go against the Atkins principals?) and is watery, flavorless, and I'm hungry again in less than an hour. Being a previously devoted Atkins shake fan, I hate to say this, but Slimfast Low Carb shakes now taste better than the new Atkins shakes. Atkins cost more than Slimfast Low Carb, but they used to be worth it! I do have a hint though, if you add a couple of servings of half-and-half (the kind that are for adding to coffee) to the shake, it helps create a creamier shake that is a bit more satisfying. But why should I have to? Why did they think they had to fix something that wasn't broken?
