I am amazed out how much I enjoy this soup with how little effort goes into preparing it.
It has a very good flavor, and comes out surprisingly creamy. It won't replace homemade soups in my house, but I do always keep a bag in the pantry for a quick, filling, and tasty lunch when I just don't have time to make it from scratch. It's delicious all on it's own, or you can throw in your own extras to customize. I have tossed in jalapenos, frozen corn, mushrooms, broccoli, cheese or whatever else you just happen to have around and it always comes out great.
My only complaint is with the little chunks of dried potato, they never quite reconstitute into a real potato texture. I frequently just sift them out and dice a potato or two and toss those in instead, they cook soft in the 15 minutes it takes for the soup to cook and no one would ever know it came powdered in a bag.

Why on earth would anywone pay close to $10 a bag when WalMart is selling the 11 oz bag for under $4.00? Shoppers do you homework first before becoming a victim of such over pricing.

This is the most delicious, homemade tasting soup I have ever had. My daughter is literally licking her bowl. It is quite spicy, which I assume is from the pepper you can clearly see throughout. The potato pieces make it quite hearty. Lastly, one pouch makes a ton of soup: 1/2 gallon! Great as a meal or in a smaller crock as an appetizer. I am trying this company's other varieties now and cannot wait. Cannot say enough about this product!

This is the best packaged soup mix ever. We have "given" it to four people - all agree, it's excellent! Very easy to prepare and there are many ways you can jazz it up if you want - ham, bacon bits, clams - more veggies. Sometimes it can be found locally - and sometimes not (all sold out?) and that's the reason we order a case at a time.
