Healthy Snack...But... 'Peak Protein' Flavor Is Nothin To Write Home AboutSep 18, 2006

Whew..I'm so glad I bought this at the market to try out before I ordered 12, count em 12 bags of this snack. I purchased the larger 12 0z. size for cereal, and it took me a long time to get through it. I have tried two of the other flavors(Cinnamon Apple/Banana Nut), that I really thought were delicious and chewy, and could also be used as toppers for yogurt. This one didn't taste bad, it was just bland and boring. Nothin to write home about. It was also not chewy like the chunks in the others.
Health wise; It's a good healthy, energizing snack or breakfast. The power of protein combined with other the healthful and nutritious ingredients:
Whole Grain Oats, Toasted Soy Flakes, Honey, Expeller Pressed Canola Oil, Cranberries (Cranberries, Sugar), Soy Protein Isolate, Sunflower Seeds, Crisp Rice (Rice and Barley Malt), Whole Grain Flax Meal, Cinnamon, Natural Flavor. It's low in fat and sugar, and has no cholesterol. It has 5 grms. of protein per serving. And "Bear Naked" says the company's ingredients are all-natural and barely processed. Maybe you could even doctor it with some fresh fruit for a little added flavor to your cereal. But I couldn't recommend to buy 12 bags of it. Too bad they don't have a multi-pack in either the 12 oz. bags, or the 2 0z snack bags, so that you can sample each flavor for yourself. Like the other flavors, after you get through the chunk parts, you are left with crumb size bits, but won't go to waste if you sprinkle on yogurt.
Other pluses for the product are that they come in ziploc bags, are a good price compared to the grocery store, and are convenient to throw in your briefcase or gym bag. I would though, recommend, one of the other flavors that are really good.

I am always looking for sources of protein for my teenage vegetarian son. We have had this granola before, it is great! This 2 oz size is fantastic, I can put it in his school lunches. All of the Bear Naked Granola flavors are great.

I have used the other Bear Naked products and like them, but this particular one is dry, not much taste. The size of the pouches is convenient. It's ok for a quick hunger fix on the run.

None of the BEAR NAKED GRANOLA products are organic nor do they contain any organic ingredients. Further they DO contain genetically modified ingredients (GMOS). These very misleading statements/descriptions by Amazon.com need to be removed immediately. For those of us for whom eating organic food is very important because we do not want GMOs in our food, this is deceiving and potentially dangerous. Please update the necessary listings at once and remove the erroneous information. Thank you.
