5Very TastyNov 21, 2008

I wasn't sure what to expect but this is really good soup. Butter or margarine was floating on the top when I
opened it and there were six small oysters in the can. With some milk or cream added, it tastes as good as homemade and much less hassle. Get the oyster crackers ready!

5This is a great oyster stew baseJun 27, 2009

I add fresh shucked oysters, extra butter, 'Old Bay Spice' & 1/2+1/2, with a loaf of crusty french bread.
Can't find this at any market, used to have it as a kid.
I recommend this for anyone who likes oysters.

5Delicious!!Feb 13, 2007

I purchased 24 cans of this Oyster Stew for my Mom. At 84 years old she lives alone and I live 800 miles away. My sister lives nearby her and does a great job of keeping me informed as to how Mom is doing. Mom does not eat properly. She has always loved Oyster Stew but on a limited budget she refuses to buy it saying it is too expensive, so we are always trying to come up with ways to get her to not just eat but to also eat better. She was thrilled to receive the Oyster Stew. This is one Campbell's product that has remained tasty and rich ,a product I feel comfortable sending to my Mom. She is really enjoying it . I then purchased case for myself, as I have always loved Oyster Stew, my husband does not like it. I used to make my own, but this is easier and more economical.

5Campbell's Oyster StewJul 10, 2010
By Mark Jackson "Mark"
Until perhaps two years ago, Campbell's Oyster Stew was available in some of the local supermarkets. I was a loyal customer as I LOVE oyster stew. Sometimes I make it myself but the Campbell's canned variety is every bit as good as my homemade recipe. Anyway, for the last two years I've rationed the meagre supply I had accumulated from my purchases at the supermarket but, about six months ago I used the last one. So sad. I no longer could find it at the supermarkets. When I looked on-line, I was able to find it but the price was exhorbitant so I had to do without.

That is, until a few weeks ago when I tried my on-line search again and 'lo and behold, I discovered it available through Amazon! Yaaaaaaay! I lost no time in ordering and, when it arrived, I immediately opened, heated and ate a whole can! SOOOOOOOoooooo yummy. If you like oyster stew, this is the greatest way to have just a little bit without cooking up a whole pot and eating nothing but oyster stew for a week.

Buy it! You can't go wrong -- unless perhaps you are on a salt free diet or don't like salt in your food. My wife thinks it's a bit too salty. But I surely do not agree.

4Not badJul 21, 2010

This is really pretty good for a canned soup. It's not loaded with oysters by any means, but the flavor is there, and that's really what you are looking for in oyster soups.

Considering that you can't find this in every store, it's definitely worth the money if you are an oyster fan.
