Nice Paper - but worth the price?Mar 30, 2011
By C. Bencina I bought this paper for the purpose of printing out my junior thesis artwork. I was persuaded to buy this paper by all the five star reviews. Upon receiving it, I noticed that the material wasn't exactly what I had expected it to be. It is essentially a matte paper. I was under the impression that this paper would have some sort of texture to it, more tooth to it, but it doesn't. It's rather smooth. I also expected the paper to be slightly heavier, but it's surprisingly light. No worries though, the paper does not warp or anything of the sort; it holds up well.
Six of my thesis pieces were printed out on this paper. (You can see the image I uploaded in product images) Overall, I am happy with the paper. It successfully printed and looks great.
However, I knocked out a star for the price. I should knock off two, but the paper itself is great. It simply is not worth it at all, personally, this paper should be worth about $25. What would have sold me would have been some kind of texture or interesting finish you could feel. But it's basically just a matte paper. Personally, I will not buy this paper again unless they drop the price.
Last year, I printed my artwork on Brilliant Supreme 13 x 19 Double Sided Matte Paper sold by Calumet. I compared my thesis prints to a print I made on the brilliant supreme paper. The brilliant supreme paper is slightly smoother (hardly noticeable) and a tiny bit heavier (again, not too noticeable). The look of both prints, however, are exactly the same. To boot, the Brilliant Supreme brand is 25 papers, same size, double sided, for half price. Obviously, the brilliant supreme is a better deal. No argument which is a better bang for your buck.
Overall I give the paper 4 stars. I am very happy with my prints, they all came out great. But without some kind of special tooth to the paper, it just doesn't justify the price of it.

Not what I expected, but awesome anyway!Nov 06, 2008
By Thomas N. Gilmore I am amazed at the quality of the printout on this paper from my new Canon Pixma 9000 printer. I am a Canon fan so use my Canon Rebel Xsi to produce the photographs I print out on this paper. It is my first experience in using various paper types and wanted to try out this paper for some aircraft photos after reading the reviews.
It is more of a matte finish, but the colors are vibrant and true. The effect is kind of like a painting more than a photograph. It is a good choice for a classic landscape photograph.
One thing I noticed is that printouts are recommended to have a border. I found no way on the Pro 9000 printer to produce a borderless printout in the EasyPhoto Pro software. The results are fine even with the border. The reason is that the accuracy of the printout can suffer if the print were done in a borderless format.

Canon Fine Art Paper Photo Rag PaperAug 16, 2007
By Calvin J. Williams This is by far the best Fine Art photo paper I have used. Marvelous resolution and color on my Canon Pixma Pro 9000. I am going back through my stock and reprinting many of my best older photos...

Superb look and feel, fantastic printsJul 27, 2007
By Charlie L. After printing a landscape I had printed on my old i900D and not seeing the results I expected, I upgraded to the Canon Pro9000 and printed the same shot, WOW, what a difference. The photo rag paper has a great feel and the resutling colors blew me away. The blue sky and deep greens matched perfectly what I was seeing on my monitor. The paper may be more expensive than the Photo Paper Pro, but you'll love the reults. I can't wait to try it on some portraits where this paper really excels.

Canon Fine Art Paper is incredible!!Nov 25, 2007
By Lawrence Colson Having just bought my PRO9000 upgrading from a Pixma IP8500 I was anxious to try the Fine Art Paper they suggested was only compatible with the PRO 9000 or 9500. When I pulled this paper out of the box I was surprised. It didn't look very impressive given how expensive the paper was. I printed a couple of landscape shots that I had previously printed on my IP8500 and standard Canon paper. As the paper was coming out of the printer I was nothing short of amazed at the difference. The colors are much more vibrant and saturated.
