5Wonderful, light teaAug 02, 2006
By E. Newsome
This tea is a wonderful, light flavored tea. With all the companies that mix different flavors with White tea, it's wonderful to taste the fresh, clean flavor of pure white tea. I drink a lot of tea, and white tea is my favorite. It's not as heavy as dark tea, but it is still flavorful and complex. I highly recommend this to everyone, and especailly those who may not like other teas. I think everyone will enjoy this refreshing drink.

5Ultimately refreshing. Savor the delicate complexity!Apr 01, 2006

The aroma of this tea in the box is a light woodsy tea scent. When brewed you experience the same woodsy scent but with a floral component. The taste is subtle. The flavor is woodsy and floral--a fantasy of bamboo and lilac.

If you are looking for an intense burst of flavor this tea is not for you. If you have time to savor a delicate, refreshing brew then try this!

Celestial Seasonings gets extra points for their packaging: they utilize 100% natural recycled paperboard in their boxes and they don't package each tea bag individually. Instead they use a system of a waxed paper bag inside the box that stays shut when you fold it. It keeps the bags fresh and utilizes less packaging than individually wrapping each bag. They put a caffeine meter on the box to compare this tea with cola and coffee beverages-this tea has 5 mg of caffeine compared to 90 in a cup of drip coffee. This tea is reported as having a high level of antioxidants-higher than green tea. The level of antioxidants and information about them would be a good addition. The art they use on each box is beautiful as are the quotes and information they put on every surface. Here is a poem they put on this box:

"Ten thousand flowers in the spring, the moon in autumn, a cool breeze in summer, snow in winter. If your mind isn't clouded by unnecessary things, this is the best season of your life."
Wu Men.

5the healthiest alternative?Jan 25, 2008
By C. Conwell "clicon"
I visited Celestial Seasonsings plant near Boulder, CO. The factory tour let me see that the company's operation was clean/fine looking. They explained how all different types of teas and herbal infusions were prepared (it's slightly different for some types). Everything is automated. I later read an interesting research paper that showed Celestial Seasonsing's green tea had the highest antoxidants in a comparison. White teas have even more antixodiants (as they are basically young green tea leaves). I feel this tea was the perfectly choice for alternative to coffee in the AM.

5Not my cup of tea but, definitely, my wife'sOct 25, 2008

I am a white tea drinker and I've been a white tea drinker for... at least 3 years and I became one after I was a green tea drinker :). What I enjoy most in white tea is the delicate flavor and the relatively low caffeine content which allows me to drink a lot of it. I usually have a 'premium' brand such as the Revolution Tea White Chai Tea, Organic, 15-Count Pyramid Teabags (Pack of 6) of which I brew one bag in the morning for a kick start. Then, I go for some less expensive but near as good brand such as the Stash Premium Tea, Organic Premium White, Tea Bags, 18-Count Boxes (Pack of 6).

Well, we ordered the Celestial Seasonings by mistake as few months ago and, to my surprise, my wife liked it and she's drinking it now. She doesn't care about the caffeine so she's not drinking my teas but, this one, for some reason happens to be... her cup of tea.

Don't expect super-premium satisfaction but it's a solid, honest, true to its claim white tea and it won't break your budget.

Enjoy! :)

5Delicate flavorJan 19, 2008

For those who enjoy green tea but don't care for the grassy taste some can have, white tea is for you. It's light taste is subtle and mello without being boring. The lower acidity than black teas makes it easy on the stomach as well. This is the one tea I reach for over and over year round.
