4For Cinnamon LoversApr 19, 2008
By Bonnie S. Seybert "Bonnie"
If you love cinnamon, this is the cereal to buy. Just a bit too much cinnamon for me, but my grandkids really love them. They make a great dry snack too.

5Great for picky eaters!Jan 05, 2008

Cereal is not applauded with great fanfare in our house, so if I find a winner, then it's great news! This has a wonderful taste but in my opinion as an adult, the sugar content is a little high. Other than that, the whole grain thing is great and if you're trying to get your children to eat grains more, then this one should fit the bill quite well. Recommend!

5Now with WHOLE GRAIN...like the HOLE in your BRAIN!Oct 19, 2007

General Mills introduced Cinnamon Toast Crunch breakfast cereal in the mid 1980's with the simple but effective jingle, "Feelin' like cinnamon toast; Feelin' like Cinnamon Toast Crunch; Feelin' like cinnamon and sugar; Feelin' like homemade taste..." Later, three jolly cartoon bakers were featured in Cinnamon Toast Crunch TV commercials, and were soon utilized to liven up the heretofore boring box design. The Bakers enjoyed dancing around on black and white linoleum kitchen floors while singing, "We're cinnamon and sugar shakers, Cinnamon Toast Crunch Bakers," to enthralled youngsters. Eventually, the slim brown-haired Baker and the chubby black-haired Baker mysteriously disappeared from both the box and the commercials, leaving only Wendell, the fat white-haired Baker with glasses. Around that same time, a cinnamon swirl design was added to the cereal pieces. Perhaps the two missing Bakers disagreed with Wendell's decision to swirl the cinnamon. Or maybe the advertising executives at the "Big G" were afraid the three characters on the box would be mistaken for Snap, Crackle and Pop. Whatever the reason, the two lost Bakers are sorely missed.

In 2004, General Mills caved under intense pressure from health advocacy groups and agreed to make all their cereals with supposedly more nutritious "whole grains"...as opposed to half grains. Ergo, all "Big G" cereal boxes are now emblazoned with the annoyingly ostentatious "G with Whole Grain" logo. Fortunately, the taste remains pretty much the same. The cinnamon pieces are still shaped exactly like Golden Grahams (little squares with ridges), and, like Golden Grahams, they still go soggy in milk in about 3 minutes. But that's not a problem, because once that first "cinnamunchy-crunchy" spoonful hits your tongue, the bowl is certain to be emptied in well under 3 minutes.

Three quarters of a cup of Cinnamon Toast Crunch (without milk) contains a mere 130 calories, 3 grams of fat, 10 grams of sugar and zero cholesterol. Have a bowl with Wendell today...he's lonely!

5Tooth decaying, artery clogging goodness.... in a box!Dec 28, 2007

If you're overweight or "fat" as some would say, you shouldn't eat this. It's got lots of sugar that's not gonna help you much. But if you're a healthy individual with an insanely efficient metabolism, like myself, eat away. This cereal is top notch, second only to Lucky Charms in my opinion. Each little piece of "toast" is coated in the most delicious sugar/brown sugar mix you will ever expirience, and anyone who specializes in the art of cereal consumption, again like myself, will know that this fact makes for some mouth-watering leftover milk.

I must warn you however, if you searched Cinnamon Toast Crunch here on Amazon, you may have seen the "reduced sugar" version of this cereal. STAY AWAY! If I didn't know any better, I would say they replace the sugar with some sort of beach sand. It tastes terrible and makes you're mouth feel like you just comsumed several sticks of chalk. Stay with the full sugar version and you'll be satisfied.

4I like it mixed half and half with Cheerios to make less sweetJun 19, 2011
By Ali Julia
Cinnamon Toast Crunch consists of small squares of wheat and rice covered with cinnamon and sugar. Because of the rice content, when immersed in milk, one can hear "snap" sounds coming from it, similar to Rice Krispies. I love cinnamon so I always try any cereal that has cinnamon in it. I find Cinnamon Roast Crunch a bit too sweet for my taste by itself. However, I found a way to make it just right. To make it less sweet I mix it half and half with Cheerios cereal (which has 1 gram of sugar per serving). In that mixture I find it pleasant to taste and not sugary.

One serving of Cinnamon Toast Crunch cereal (¾ cup or 31 g) has 130 calories or 170 calories with ½ cup of skim milk. A single serving has 3 g of total fat, no cholesterol, 220 mg of sodium and 45 mg of potassium. One serving has 25 g of total carbohydrates with 2 g of dietary fiber, 10 g of sugars, 13 g of other carbohydrates, 1 g of protein.
