Can't imagine better tasting stuff!!Nov 06, 2009
By Happy in Ohio I'm pretty new to coconut oil. I've been reading about it's benefits and using it for less then 6mo. The first brand I tried was the cheap Walmart brand...Louana. I liked the benefits so much that I decided to try better stuff. I picked up a jar of Nutiva and was pleasantly surprised how much better it was then Louana. Louana had no taste or smell, while Nutiva tasted and smelled like coconut. It absorbed much better into my skin and hair also. I'm a curious soul so I decided to try a "raw" coconut brand and tried Coconut Pacific and it blew me away!! I tasted and smelled like "FRESH" cracked open coconuts! Nutiva tastes and smells like toasted coconuts. While this isn't a bad thing in my book, I prefer the fresher taste of Coconut Pacific. I'll never buy Louana again and I'll use Nutiva on my skin and hair or when I cook and bake. Coconut Pacific is my go to EVCO when I put it in my coffee or on toast, bread, oatmeal, or straight out of the jar!!! Its more expensive then Nutiva and I wish Amazon had larger jars of this stuff but it's by far my favorite!!! Try it and you'll be ruined and broke like me but HAPPY!!

Really niceFeb 03, 2010
By Garry I really like this coconut oil...it has a delicate smell and really helps with dry skin. The four glass jars (thank you for not using plastic) were well packaged and unlikely to break during shipping. I was a little surprised to find out that our cat loves this stuff; I think he would lick the jar empty if I left the lid off. Excellent!

mediocre at bestAug 23, 2010
By Lund Wolfe I thought I'd try this coconut oil because it comes in glass instead of plastic and the reviews were good. I have only tried one other coconut oil, Aloha Nu, before this one. Aloha Nu may have spoiled me with its freshness and strong smell and flavor of coconut. I'll definitely be going right back to Aloha Nu even if it does have a plastic bottle.
The Amazon description says the Coconut Pacific is cold pressed, but it doesn't say that anywhere on the four 4 - ounce glass bottles. It does say it is raw and virgin but it is way too mild with very little freshness or coconut in the smell or taste. I have some serious doubts about whether this coconut oil is truly raw or may just be made from lower quality coconuts than the Aloha Nu, which I had little doubt about being raw and made with quality coconuts. Some people go out of their way to find this mildness so Coconut Pacific may be to their liking but not mine. It is always liquid and would probably make a fine tanning oil. The four small jars are inconvenient and overpriced overall for a mere 16 ounces, but I'm keeping the cute little jars for when I want to give somebody some seasonings or something.

This size jar is perfect for having it where I need it plus great quality oilJun 14, 2010
By RSD48 Virgin coconut oil is used in two ways: to cook with and also topically. In my particular case I wanted to use this topically, especially for its ability to sooth joints, so having smaller jars in different places in a 2 story house is very helpful. I read Feif's book on coconut cures and decided to try this for a very cranky knee. I know this kind of natural treatment needs more patience than a quick pill, so I held off reviewing this product for a few weeks.
I am happy to report first that it has a lovely soft subtle fresh coconut smell and is silky smooth. It melts almost as soon as it hits my fingertips. Second, it rubs easily into the skin. I have started a ritual of massaging my knee well, including the back of the knee area, with the virgin coconut oil, then wrapping it in a wide piece of soft flannel and pinning it for the night as I go to bed. The flannel keeps any oil that has not been completely absorbed off the sheets. After a few weeks of this I now have no pain at all on most days, and problems arise only after spending a lot of time walking/standing on very hard surfaces like concrete. Otherwise the knee is doing much, much better.

Useful and tasty product...May 19, 2010

There are a number of choices available when purchasing unrefined coconut oil. I've tried several brands in the last month. Since I hadn't heard much about Coconut Pacific, particularly compared to Nutiva and some of the other more popular brands, I was pleasantly surprised that the taste is just as good if not better than most of the highly-rated products, and that the quality of the packaging (small glass jars, clear product information on the labels) is high. I don't have an issue with the small jars because I can keep them in different locations (kitchen, bathrooms, bedroom, etc.) and 4 jars come with the order. Like others have said, my cat thoroughly enjoys coconut oil; his coat looks great, and he hasn't had one hairball or dry skin patch since he's started "mooching" it...those were chronic problems for him that did not respond to more traditional treatments. As for human use, this product has been helpful with alleviating dry scalp issues, and it's very useful in the kitchen. The taste is neither too bland nor too overpowering. The free shipping from Amazon was a nice incentive.
