Truffles? Where???Apr 30, 2007
By wenfei The name is misleading as there are no truffles listed in the ingredients. However, there IS a hard chunk of porcini mushroom in the bottle. Perhaps my palate is not sophisticated enough, but I didn't detect anything special in the taste of this oil. In fact, there is a strange synthetic smell that may be coming from the plastic spout. I even refilled the bottle with EVOO and microwaved it in order to release the mushroom flavor, but nothing changed. I guess I'll spend the extra money for some REAL truffle oil.

Tastes like rancid soy oilJan 09, 2010
By ajina Please don't waste your money on this product. It is absolutely vile. Tastes like it is rancid, doesn't even taste like olive oil. Certainly has no truffle flavor. Horrible product. Maybe Amazon stored it at 150 degrees, I have no idea. But it is awful.

This is just sooooo awful!!!!Sep 17, 2010
By A. Bennett Like the other reviewer stated.....they must be rancid! I wasted some beautiful, expensive fish using this product. After anxiously waiting for the fish to cook, I took a bite...... and almost vomited. This is the worst oil I have ever tried to eat. I immediately drained the oil into the toilet and recycled all the remaining bottles. Ohhhhh, I can not tell you how putrid this oil was. I get sick to my stomach just remembering the taste. Do NOT. I repeat, DO NOT buy this company's products....at least not the ones with oil in them. What a waste of money and produce. I can only hope I did not do any permanent damage to my health with my limited exposure to this criminally discusting food.

On fish fantasticJan 23, 2011
By JP O'Leary Use this product on Salmon and Halibut. Out of the bottle the oil is not a stand alone taste I would ever want - but it really brings out the flavors in fish.
Love this oil on roast beef sandwiches.Jan 07, 2012
By James D. Thornton Judging from their reaction some of the other reviewers must have gotten a bad bottle. I pick this up at the local Bi-Lo grocery store and have gone through about 5-6 bottles. It has a mild pleasant taste that I hate to do without when making roast beef sandwiches.
True, it is not real truffles but truffle flavor. Nonetheless I love the taste and miss it when I'm out.
