Works great - just get used to fewer sudsJun 08, 2008
By Enigma This product works fine for about every type of dish/pan cleaning. Many complain they have to use more or that it doesn't work well. What the issue really is that people are used to high-sudsing detergents so they use more to try to get more suds or they feel it's not working.
The fact that it doesn't suds a lot is the point - it's what makes it environmentally friendly.
Those of you on septic will really appreciate this cleaner as it better for the system and in combination with other similar products for your washer and dish washer, will reduce the problems detergents cause.

Simply the best.. Finally !Jun 06, 2008
By Claudia S. Wong Finally my dream came true. This produst has everything I dreamed of : 1. I only need one soap dispenser next to my kitchen sink that is filled with this amaizing cleaner 2. It can be used as liquid dishwaser cleaner and as liquid hand soap the same time. 3. The fragrance is so pleasant, soft and light that does not bother any member of the family that used to sneez when using previous strong chemical dishwashing liquids, besides telling me " I hate that smell in the kitchen! 4.Does not irritate, dry my skin or makes it itchy like previous chemical detergents that I used in the past. 5.Does a great job cleaning the dishes, eassy to rinse it off, I simply enjoy washing the dishes with it ! 6. It calms me when I detect the fragrance, so when I wash dishes I feel relaxed and I do not see the activity as WORK. I guess the brain enjoys it, too. I used to hate washing dishes. But now, no more... 7. DO not be fool by the fact that does not bubble, it cleans wonderfull. The bubbling in a detergent is due to certains chemicals added to it to make it buble and foam, it has nothing to do with cleaning, same is about dishwasher loundry detergent, shower gel, shampoo... even the tooth paste. 8.It is enviromentally friendly and we should all care about it, specially if you have to think of your family next generation. Just imagine YOU inherited what your children WILL if WE do not care....

Smells nice, good for enviro, but little elseJan 23, 2008

I have recently started going green. I'm currently trying to find a replacement for the Palmolive I had been using. I tried Dishmate, Natural Pear, first since it was on sale at my health food store. I was definately not impressed. It takes SO much more product to clean a load of dishes. I have to put in 2-3 times as much product in the sink compared to Palmolive. I feel that there is a little film on the plates, but the glasses seem to come out clean. It does take off baked on items well, if the item is left to soak overnight.
The only benefits of it is the biodegradability and the scent. The scent is just a touch soft though, I only smell it when I first fill my sink. I'm a heavy perfume kind of person, though.

I use it on everything I own; I mean everything!Dec 23, 2008
By ellenwheelz After trying many "eco-friendly" products, especially dish liquids, I was becoming very disappointed. I was so chemically sensitive, I would often feel bad for the rest of the day if I spent much time in contact. The skin does absorb the chemical ingredients. I eventually figured out that the SLS or SLES(anything with lauryl or laureth or similar terms) were the ingredients that were making me spacy and fatigued. And they are right in there in many of the so-called healthy alternative detergents!
One company, Seventh Generation, uses flowery, eco-obfuscating language; they never tell you that their product actually contains sodium laureth sulfate (similar in structure to sulfuric acid), the cheapest of sudsing agents, which is found in almost all "mainstream" personal care items; dish detergent, body wash, shampoo, etc.
When I went to their website to complain, they replied that they use "a mix of functional descriptions and specific ingredients on...labels", to "allow us to refine formulas without the expense of having to reprint labels with each refinement". And just try to uncover from their website, what the actual ingredients are. I am admittedly not a computer genius (read brain fog), but it took an unreasonable amount of digging to uncover the ingredient list.
The point of my review here for Dishmate Liquid is, after I found it to be so body friendly that I could have prolonged contact without sensitivity symptoms, I decided to try it as a body wash (my skin was irritable no matter what I used to wash it). It was great! I no longer felt "bad" after taking a shower. It was only a matter of time before I tried it as a shampoo and, surprise, it doesn't hurt your eyes (as gentle as a baby shampoo), and my hair is beautiful!
I no longer buy any soaps, body washes or shampoo. I add a few drops of essential oil to diluted Ultra Dishmate as a hand and body wash. I have recommended (and gifted) this liquid to anyone I know with allergy, chemical sensitivity, or skin problems.
The best part of this is, since I have minimized contact with major sources of irritation, the entire chemical sensitivity problem has become much less prominent in my life. This Dishmate Liquid has actually improved my life! Try this. It may be a change for you too!
p.s. It works just great on greasy dishes, pots and pans, too.

smells great and does sudsNov 14, 2007
By M. Anthony This dishsoap smells lovely, clean and refreshing. I've even had friends comment on the wonderful scent. Perfect for autumn & winter. For spring and summer I like Mrs. Meyers geranium scented dish soap. You've gotta do the dishes so you may as well get some enjoyment of it, right? Also, some of the other natural soap brands do not suds but this one really does.
