Best brownie mixMar 30, 2009

I purchased this item at my local grocery store a few months ago and immediately checked Amazon to see if they offered it. My family says these are the best! They're rich, chocolaty, chewy, easy to make --and did I mention chocolaty? I know there are other flavors I haven't tried yet but I'm betting they are also great. I think Ghirardelli knows how to do chocolate!

I love to bake and cook and feel homemade, from scratch, is almost always the way to go. Cookies, cakes etc, nothing can beat the loving touch of measuring the ingredients, right? Wrong! On a whim I picked up some Ghirardelli chocolate brownie mix at the store and haven't looked back since. Like all brownie mixes it's a box of powdered stuff to which is added oil, water, and egg.
After that it's totally different from any box mix, or made at home brownie. The brownies have a delicious flavor, no fake or nasty taste. They are thick and dense and chocolate. Of course, being Ghirardelli I would expect the chocolate to be good, but these are great. I felt a little miffed to be honest and began making brownies left and right from some pretty famous chefs and gourmet cookbooks and finally, about the fifth time my family said, "these are good, when are you going to make the Ghiardelli again?" I gave up. I even take these to events and always get compliments.

I used an egg replacer(ener G). I also used an equal amount of apple sauce in place of the oil. Use the same amount of water the box says. The brownies came out great.

A Remarkably Delicious Brownie MixApr 08, 2011

We discovered Ghirardelli Double Chocolate Brownie Mix several years ago and now almost always buy this product; I say almost always because we have been know from time to time to buy the Dark Chocolate Mix as well.
If one simply follows the directions one gets absolutely fabulous brownies. If there is ever a special occasion and my wife wants to treat the guests to something they will love we prepare these brownies.
Should you want to enhance the brownies you can top the warm brownies after baking with a layer of unwrapped Dark or Milk Chocolate Hershey Chocolate bars and allow to cool to room temperature before cutting. Either of those combinations should provide a baked desert that will bring enthusiastic compliments.

Ghirardelli makes the greatest brownies. I am a brownie fanatic and these are by far the best I've ever had! Really delicious, rich, and chocolately!
The shipping took 5-9 business days as promised and the brownies were pretty easy to make. If you are a chocoholic like me, I highly recommend these.
