I hadn't eaten much marzipan in my life (a few times the tiny colorful fruits). My husband loves marzipan so I added it to my order from a company that sells old time candy...Turkish Taffy like Bonomos for me, Clark Bars for him. When it arrived we sliced one and tasted it. It slices easily and is moist and flavorful. It has an almond flavor that goes well with the deep chocolate flavor of the coating. I am hooked too.

This cake is fantastic! I found this at a local store and first tried one, but when I liked it so much I bought a bunch of them.
It's basically a pound cake like cake with a thin layer of chocolate marzipan covering. The marzipan is a almond based flavor. So if you like pound cake, chocolate and almond taste, then this cake's for you!
Kuchenmeister also sells this type of cake in different flavors like lemon, chocolate and marble (mix of regular and chocolate) and I like them all! And at the current price, it's a great deal!

I had previously given this cake a low score, but my family loves it. Oh well, I'll go with the flow. I'm outvoted.
