5Necessary and Healthy Oils without dangerFeb 06, 2007
By William M. Klepper "BK"
Grape-Seed-Oil (GSO). Its Packaged in a metalic can to survive the Transportation. That is the only bad thing about this oil. Everything else is perfect; way better than any olive-oil. When you want to flash fry food, like fries or shrimp, you need to set the heat up very high, 450 to 550 F This is the only oil I know that will not smoke at that heat. At that temp, the oil does not enter the food, saving you excess fat in the diet. It sears the food before it can be absorbed. Fried Chicken has the juices seared in. But remember, at that heat, breading can burn before the oil will smoke, so don't walk away.

The last 'perfect' is that this oil actually does for you what fish-oil does, but without a taste. It help raise your HDL and lower your LDL and that's good for the Ticker and Liver Did I mention that it doesn't smell or taste. The flavor is so subtle, its perfect in a vinegar-oil dressing. This is where it outshines olive-oil. You want to soften butter for dinner rools? Take some of this oil and warm it, and mix at 5 parts butter to 1 part warmed GSO. No one will even know its there.

Great value for price. Great performance for price. Great Health for price. So, why doesn't California, Ohio, and NY make oil from the left-over Grape seeds from their wine? Chile does. And the whole thing is cheaper than mid-quality Olive-oil, and better for you.

5Great ProductJun 24, 2006

This is a great product; and one of the few that has a reasonable order size and price in the Amazon grocery store. This is superior to Olive Oil for cooking because it is higher in antioxidants and lower in fat. Le Tourangelle is also a high quality brand. 4 units is a lot, but theyu are 16.9 ounce units so not that bad (vs. 32 ounce standard size at an import store).

4Nice oil but not ItalianJan 29, 2007
By Lafayette H. Bunnell "Riso"
Yes, you get dented cans because amazon uses those ridiculous inflated bags and workers with no judgement about how to pack a box. Everything bounces around inside until the books and towels you ordered get oiled. Fine, they fix it, but who needs the waste and trouble of planned damage? The oil is good and I buy it, but the can says its from CHILE. Somedays I wonder if its not really soy bean oil from Brazil, but without a lab, we wont know for sure.....

5Comparable price to the store, light texture, flavor freeJun 28, 2006
By S. Marsh
This was the first grapeseed oil that I bought for use with the Shangri-la Diet. I took the bottle to work and used it blended with extra light olive oil.

It worked flawlessly, had less taste and the blend was easier to swallow than pure olive oil.

Pricewise it is competitive with other grapeseed oils in the same volume (I've bought several, from different stores), it has no color unlike some (the bright green color of some doesn't attract me) and it is clear and light.

I've been very pleased with it.

5Grapeseed oilAug 28, 2007
By R D
This oil has a nice, very mild, nutty flavor. We use it as an alternative to olive oil, which breaks down and loses its health benefits at high temperatures. The grapeseed works well for all purposes for oil - non stick, saute, baking, dipping. We don't fry, but it should be good for that too. A high quality, fresh oil.
