 nothing but lavazza at my houseJul 27, 2010
been drinking Lavazza for over 20 years and travelled to many other cities in the world and had their coffee....nothing compares. It's not widely available in American supermarkets though...so I was very happy when Amazon started carrying it, for a good price too.
Smooth tasting coffee, not bitter or overly roasted like some other big branded coffee here in the US. Get some today...

I have been using Lavazza Super Crema for lattes I make every morning with my Gaggia Classic for over a year now. In my humble opinion, this is the smoothest and best tasting espresso I have come across. There is no bitterness or bad after taste, just smooth and creamy and I make really good crema with it as well. Top notch coffee!!

Nothing compares to illy but based on value, this is a very good compromise. From Italy, so not like your "over ripe" american roasts. Subtle and slightly sour so you'll have to play around like everything else with the grind and the proportions.
Definitely a good buy especially if you sign up for the 15% discount for regular shipments.
Don't know if I'll use it all up in a month but that's what's the freezer is for.
Using a cuisinart burr grinder and a keurig k-cup machine for daily coffee. Seems to work best on fine grind, with a little packing in the cup. Middle cup size because small makes it a bit too sour for me. No bitterness or burnt taste.
Using a Krups pump espresso maker for espresso. Perfection.

This is one of the best tasting coffees available for use in an espresso machine. It makes great espresso, cappuccino, latte macchiato, and regular coffee. The only other coffee that I've tasted that might be better is Illy's whole bean medium roast, but it's considerably more expensive. Lavazza Super Crema is very good coffee at a reasonable price.

Best espresso roast for the moneyJul 11, 2010
I'm amazed, at its price point, that anyone would criticize this bean. I notice one review that criticizes it, but then describes the reviewer as "(I mean I'm not a novice for espresso) i own a semi-automatic espresso machine (DeLongi BAR32 before and now Saeco Aroma, Breville BCG450XL Conical Burr Grinder) about 5 years" ... well wait ... he owns an $80 Delongi upgraded to a $250 Saeco, and a $90 grinder ... yuch! You cannot get a setup that will do these beans justice for under $2000 (my setup is bare bones with a $2000 Quickmill Anita with PID and filtered plumbin; and a $700 Mazzer Mini ... all cleaned and adjusted obsessively).
OK, if I had all the money in the world, I'd always get Black Cat from Intelligensia (the best bean in the world), but it is twice to three times the price of Lavazza.
