4An Excellent Alternative To Tabasco SauceJun 07, 2008
By K. Fontenot "Prairie Cajun Lives!"
For folks who enjoy a little less bite and a milder flavor to their hot sauce, Louisiana Gold is the perfect choice. I'm a fan of a number of hot sauces, all for different reasons. I enjoy this particular sauce because it isn't overpowering. It won't kill the taste of the foods you use it on. I enjoy using it early in the morning with scrambled eggs and I also add some to gumbo before, during and after making it. It's also good to keep some of this stuff handy on the table if your red beans and rice need a mild kick or if you just want to spice up your favorite soup or chili.

The ingredients are red peppers, tabasco peppers, spirit vinegar, and salt. Also, the label isn't just a marketing ploy. This sauce is made by Bruce Foods, a Louisiana company in New Iberia, LA. Highly recommeded to fans of flavorful hot sauce.

5This is the stuff!!Aug 01, 2008

Although I am a fan of spicy foods, I never quite liked hot sauce. Most I had tried before were overpowering, had too much fire or too much vinegar. Not Louisiana Gold. This stuff can stand on it's own. I actually crave it and often eat it just with crackers. Great on a variety of foods without overwhelming them. I had it on fried catfish for the first time. It was love at first bite. YUMMM!

5Great hot sauce. I bought a box of itMar 02, 2008

This is a good quality hot sauce. It will not overpower your food. There are hotter sauces out there. Some are so hot that one can't taste the food. I had the LA Gold this morning with a ham omelet: nice.

If you like the other hotsauce with the same-looking bottle, you will like this one.

5A best kept secretJan 06, 2011

This is a much or sophisticated sauce than tabasco. Its spicy, but doesn't overpower the taste of the food itself, or cauterize your taste buds, any many hot sauces do. Last night my wife put on smoked salmon... it really worked well.

I first tasted it on eggs at my local Denny's restaurant. I tried to buy it at every store I could think of in Illinois and Wisconsin-- no luck. I'm sooo glad Amazon carries it!
