Check the ingredients. It's basically non-dairy creamer. Vanilla is the third to last ingredient, sugar and partially hydrogenated soybean oil comprise the bulk of the product.
You would think a product advertised as "Madagascar Vanilla Bean Powder" would be...well, vanilla bean powder. Not the case, unfortunately.

When I placed my order,this product was listed as Vanilla Bean Powder. I was dissapointed when I received Vanilla Bean Powder Smoothie Mix. I sent an online request for my Vanilla Bean Powder & I received a second shipment for Vanilla Bean Powder Smoothie Mix. I am still waiting for a reply on where to send the two shipments back & get a refund on my credit card for this mix up.

Do NOT order this stuff. I have ordered the VANILLA BEAN POWDER twice now and gotta VANILLA SMOOTHIE MIX both times! The 2nd order was supposed to be the replacement for the incorrect 1st shipment. NOPE, they sent the same stupid incorrect item. Definitely getting a refund. I didn't want Smoothie Mix, I wanted Vanilla Bean Powder!

The title says it's Vanilla Bean Powder, but it is not. As mentioned in previous 1-star reviews, it is basically dairy creamer with vanilla flavoring (the most faint tasting vanilla I've tasted in a long time!). The package in the picture is not the same package you recieve. The package received has a different label, one that more adequitely and accurately depicts the product's TRUE main ingreedients.
For what I needed it for (soy vanilla bean frap), it was okay, just not what I was expecting as a customer. I was looking for ACTUAL powdered vanilla beans, and the way it was worded (AND the vanilla bean pictured on the bag online) in this ad makes it sound like that's what is being sold. I would've given it a 1-star had I not been able to use the product in another fashion, but I was.
1 star for the misleading wording, and 1 star for the happenstance of being able to use it in another fashion = 2 stars.

I ordered this product to add to my coffee and lattes to add some sweetness and real vanilla flavor and am very happy with this product. I also added to a berry smoothie and it was delicious! It was a bit expensive but I'm assuming the 3lb bag will last me quite awhile. I will definitely order it again!
