I've been searching for the perfect "every day" dark roast coffee and I finally found it. Melitta Extra Dark European Roast is rich and smooth - no bitterness. I prefer it over any other mid-priced coffee I've tried, including Starbuck's and Seattle's Best. I've already reordered.

My favorite coffee! It is very dark and has a wonderful flavor without the bitterness! Reminds me of the coffees served in Germany.

In my book, the best coffee is to be found in Northern Europe. From The Netherlands through Germany to Denmark, coffee is dark, aromatic, rich, and mellow. This blend from Melitta comes as close as any I've found (including several widely available German brands) to replicating the coffee to be found in those countries' coffee houses.
My only complaint is that it's not being given away free. But that's a complaint I have about most things I like!

This coffee has a great rich flavor. It works great in all types of coffee makers. If you like your coffee strong, this is the coffee for you!
