Best available-- but not as good as their prior versionJul 11, 2007
By Granite City Green Guy The Natural Ice lipbalm was produced in a tube (like Carmex) in the early 1990s and was the best lip product I've ever used...it lasted forever, was cheap, and worked _really_ well. But they quit making it sometime around 1998 and replaced it with this stick version. The stick is just not as good; it costs more, doesn't last as long (the package, not per application), and it's more subject to melting in hot weather. Still, I've tried probably two dozen similar products and Natural Ice is the only one that really works for me-- particularly in Minnesota winters, when it often hits -20F and is really windy.
I probably have ten sticks of Natural Ice around the house/car/work and always have one in my pocket. The only way to improve it (other than bringing back the old tube version) would be to sell it in multi-packs like Chapstick and Blistex do.

I put it to the testMay 03, 2007
By David M. Dennis I love this stuff. I have been in Cheyenne, Wyoming when it is -10F and 80 mph winds, and in Doha, Qatar when it has been 128F, Iraq where it is 110F and the wind feels like a hair dryer. This product has been on my lips through all of it. Natural Ice is the only one for me.

Best LipbalmFeb 28, 2005
By Brant After using Natural Ice the others just don't compare - it helps heal chapped lips quickly (take it from someone who never uses lipbalm until it is too late) and is more effective and less annoying than other brands like chapstick.

This is the best lip balm I've ever used! Even when my lips are severely chapped from cold weather. Also great for brass players who need to keep their lips moist.

Finding the Good StuffJun 22, 2010
By C. Douglas Kraft We have used Mentholatum Natural Ice Lip Balm for decades. It is not wax like Capstick, it is not Grease like Blistex. It medicates and protects when applied before being out in summer or winter. It heals chapped lips, noses, and other skin quickly. We call it the GOOD STUFF. When backpacking or Canoeing with teens and others and someone says, "Anybody have some Chapstick?" several of us who use Mentholatum Natural Ice will reply, "Let's make a convert!" Then they use Natural Ice and discover how good it truly is. The only problem is our local pharmacy that stocked Natural Ice was bought out by a chain that does not offer Natural Ice. Amazon has a new customer; we bought 2 boxes and took some to our daughter in another state.
