Great, healthy alternative bread!Nov 15, 2010
By Spartan I love this bread as an alternative to wheat bread. It is very thin and dense, but is still moist. I like to toast it in a toaster oven. I use to buy it at the store,if I could find it, but was paying about $4.00 a loaf. Buying it in quantity on-line saves a lot of money. It stores well in the refrigerator or freezer. Handle carefully to avoid breaking the loafs. There are a number of different kinds. Some have wheat, so read the labels, if you are avoiding wheat.

I LOVE Mestemacher bread but...Dec 30, 2011

...this is not their best product. I have been an ardent devourer of Mestemacher breads ever since my trip to Germany 3 years ago. This was my first time ordering the Rye & Spelt (to shake things up) and while it is enjoyable, it's definitely not my favorite. It's on the drier, more crumbly side (vs. the 3-Grain, Fitness and Sunflower varieties)and the flavor is decent.

Delicious and FillingMay 24, 2011
By Bobbi Flekman This delicious, nutty-tasting bread is great for those who are trying to avoid the bloating that can come from consuming too much wheat and/or carbs. Although traditional sandwiches are out of the question (the bread tends to break up a bit when pressure is applied), it's great for open-faced sandwiches. I like to toast it and spread it with almond or peanut butter. It makes a delicious, healthy and filling breakfast.
