Great productAug 21, 2006
By Trying to go organic Well, if you're looking at this item, then you're already interested in it's non-toxic, non-chemical properties that Amazon describes. Other things to note: since it's all natural and organic, it's a great product if conventional items give you allergies. I personally don't mind that there's no applicator, but when there's more flow it's easier to get it because it lubricates it (sorry if you think that's gross, but it's true). One thing that it does that I don't think conventional tampons do (although I've only used conventional ones a couple times a few years ago so maybe I'm remembering wrong): the tampon expands to 2-3 times it's dry size after it soaks up a liquid.

Positive Health BenefitsMay 22, 2009
By R. Light This is the first time I have ever written a review. I just purchased these for my teenaged daughter and she was raving about them, so i thought other women needed to know what we have discovered. After she complained of experiencing itching/signs and symptoms of infection every time she used traditional brands, I looked for natural alternatives; these were available in our local health food store. The first time she used them, she could tell a difference. "Fresher feeling",no itching, she loves them. She personally likes the no-applicator version as she can carry them more easily and discreetly (tuck into jeans pocket).

Great for you and the environment!May 06, 2008
By C. H. Walker ever since I read about cotton being made from the parts of the cotton plant too high in pesticides and chemicals to be feed to cattle, I use only organic cotton for personal items. These items are easy to use, easy to conceal, discreet and effective. I shared them with several friends who didn't know they weren't conventional and never noticed a difference in performance.

No applicator? No problem!May 09, 2011
By J. Graves I went for years using disposable applicator tampons. The mere thought of using a no-applicator tampon completely grossed me out. I tried these when I had absolutely no other options. Hey! No big deal at all. I'm a convert. Not only is there much less packaging involved, these are all natural and fit in any size pocket. You can carry around a whole box of 'em without adding hardly any bulk to your purse.
I feel as though these are more effective than "normal" tampons. With Playtex, I usually had to use the supers. With these, the regulars work just fine.
Another reviewer mentioned the difficulty in taking the wrappers off. I'd have to agree. As long as you have decent eyesight and are in a well lit bathroom, you should be fine. I have, however, tried to use one in a dimly lit bathroom with VERY little success. This is the sole reason for subtracting a star from my rating.

Noticeable improvement switching from o.b.Feb 06, 2010
By imdebra My nether parts are much happier with these than with o.b., which has in recent years made some changes to their tampons. The past couple years using o.b. tampons, I've been having yeast infections after most periods, and tampon removal near the end of my periods has been painful. Since buying these tampons a few months ago, I'm not having these sorts of symptoms so far. Planning to try their pads now too.
