Great SoupJul 12, 2010 Tastes great with relatively low calories, 170 per serving, and good source of fiber, 12g.
Nile Spice Black Bean SoupJun 30, 2010 This is one of my favorite soups by nile spice, it is so yummy and so good for you with 12 grams of fiber and 12 grams of protien. It has such a wonderful flavor and leaves you feeling very satisfied. It makes me bloated being beans and all and I drink it with soda which makes the situation worse but it is just so darn yummy and it makes me feel so much better to be eating something so healthy. It has a little bit of a bite to it, which is a wonderful thing. The only problem with this soup is you have to let it sit for a while, like 10 minutes but it still doesnt make the beans soft yet, so I put it back in the microwave for 30 seconds and that makes the beans softer. If you like your beans al dante then you will like it fine but I like my beans soft.
SatisfyingJun 14, 2010 The black beans in this one are ground not whole making this soup thick and intense with flavor. I really enjoy the taste of the red bell pepper and spices. I find this soup to be more filling and satisfying than others with only 170 calories and it packs an excellent 12g of both protein and fiber. It is one of my favorites! The word "Spice" in the name of these soups says it all!
Easy and fillingMar 09, 2010 I have been eating this Nile Spice soup and the Red Beans and Rice for lunch for a few years. What I like about this is it is fast, easy, filling, tons of fiber and although not organic it doesn't have a lot of crap in it.
My only complaint is the texture. I switched to this after eating Nutrisystem Black Bean Tortilla soup which was just too expensive to keep eating. Unlike the NS soup which has big hunks of bean, this is much smaller pieces so the texture is a little flat. IT also has peppers in it so for those who don't like them this isnt for you. Its not spicy though.
Still, I will continue to eat these. I suggest letting it sit in the hot water for a good 10 minutes to really soften everything up.
DeliciousMar 08, 2010 These soups are so amazing. They are more expensive than campbell's, but have significantly more nutrition per cup and more flavor too! I don't think I can live without these, and as a vegan most Nile soups make an EXCELLENT way to get in my protein and nutritional needs. Not to mention the subscribe and save program saves me a ton on groceries.
