Poopy timeSep 13, 2010
By svunt If you don't poop enough, and would like to poop more, this is for you. Personally, I mix it with chocolate whey powder and milk - 1/4 cup of this, 1/4 cup of whey, and a cup of 2% milk, and the next morning, I poop a single, two-foot long log of supreme quality. There's not much more to say.

Just As ExpectedFeb 03, 2011

Getting fiber in my day to day diet is not one of my strong suits, so I've been shopping around for a supplement to help out.
This product is exactly what it describes itself to be. Scoop some into water, slug it down and, well, it goes to work.
You definitely have to balance the amount you use with how much you can dissolve in the amount of water you want to drink. I don't like to let it bulk up which happens if you let it sit for too long. So I've been using a level spoonful, mixing it quickly in 16oz of water, then slamming it as quick as I can. I've been finding that I'm using less and less fiber, but haven't seen any decrease in its "effectiveness".
My only disappointment would be that this doesn't dissolve very well in water, but I think that's a characteristic of all psyllium husk powder.

The natural wonderMay 09, 2011
By BRYAN S BRADLEY I was first introduced to psyllium husk over four years ago by a coworker extolling the benefits of it. After researching the subject, I began by adding a tablespoon to my morning "super-antioxidant-fruit-smoothie"--or if traveling just mixing with a glass of juice. I have rarely missed a day since and baring a worldwide shortage will continue to make it part of my daily diet.
Not wanting to include a graphical description, I will suffice to say it took the mystery out of my daily bowel movement and turned it into an innocuous and brief experience. I cannot recall the last time I suffered any kind of stomach or intestinal discomfort and believe psyllium husk has played a starring role in that. About a year ago I convinced a very close friend to give it a try and now he too has become a daily user.
If you decide to try it, do purchase the powder (any brand will do) as I have tried coarser grinds on occasion and they did not seem to work quiet as well.

good product but a word of cautionMay 15, 2011
By Mike I have been taking metamucil for years and got tired of taking the extra sugar, I bought both this powder and the whole husk. I was having the whole husk by popping a spoon full of husk in my mouth and drinking water. I take 6 spoons every night. I tried the same with this and nearly choked on the dry powder after the second spoon, this thing expands quite fast and also sticks to your mouth. It took me hours to partially clean my mouth off this sticky powder. I am going back to the whole husk till I figure out a better way to consume this.

I like it!!Aug 24, 2010
It is the first natural product that really works for constipation and digestion. My boyfriend has to be on strong pain medication which causes constipation as a side effect. Not a pleasant benefit to reducing severe pain. Psyllium husk powder mixes well with our protein shakes and we sprinkle it on our cereal in the morning. No nasty taste to worry about and it mixes well with all we have used it with including making our pancakes and muffins healthier. We will continue to use it.
