Where's the Pineapple?Mar 22, 2010
By sundown Oskri Organics Coconut Bar, Pineapple Bars - -There is only a small amount of concentrated pineapple juice. I do not taste any pineapple in this; BUT I LOVE THESE BARS. The other ingredients are coconut, and rice syrup. The coconut is left as shredded, so you do get the taste and texture of coconut. For plain coconut tasting bars, these are good. Add some chocolate chips and it tastes much like a Mounds Bar. These are very sweet. Even though I am disappointed there is no pineapple taste, These are extremely good. I am ordering more today.

Oskri Organics Coconut Bar, PineappleNov 19, 2009
By Katherine Herron I love this bar, but it is not really pineapple tasting at all. It is yellow a bit and has a slightly different taste than the plain coconut bar, but a little more moist. Although I was expecting it to taste different, it is still delicious and moist, would purchase again.

I really enjoy this bar. In fact I really enjoy all of the Oskri products I have tried. What's most enjoyable is how good they make a 3 ingredient(coconut, rice syrup, pineapple)bar. I found these while searching for a gluten free snack to take to work to help curb that late shift hunger. When I offered a couple to some of my coworkers I ended up purchasing packs for them as well, so I am very happy to see it is now a Prime shipping item! I love pineapple and coconut. Some bars have large chunks of pineapple which makes me extreamly happy. The only thing that could make these better would be more chunks of pineapple. Prior to them shipping directly from Amazon it took a little over a week to receive them and shipping cost made ordering them a luxury item. Now they have dropped the price by 4 dollars as well as being a Prime shipping item. I very much hope it stays this way. Give them a try! I'm hooked! On an odd side note, in some of the other reviews of this item I read some thought it was a little dry. If you find you have a bar that seems dry...it's probly cold. Pop it in the microwave for a few seconds or put it in a warm place. It will soften it a bit and seem more moist from the release of coconut oil.

Soooooooooo moist and yummy, but forget the notion of tasting pineapple. Also, lots of caloriesApr 14, 2010
By Mir If I were less delighted with the moist and chewy texture and yummy sweet-but-not-too-sweet taste, I'd take a star off for building up false expectations. It may have pineapple flavor, but you won't taste it. Well, unless you have some sort of mutant supertaste ability. :)
However, that aside: YUM!!!!!!! Prepare to chew a lot (but if you ever have had coconut meat, you know you do a ton of chewing.) Lots of fiber:4.8 grams per bar. Happy colon bonus!
If you're watching your weight, beware of the calories. Don't go by the nutritional info listed up there on amazon as of 4/13. It's wrong. I have a bar right here and the calorie count for the whole bar is 264, with 16.9 grams of fat, 14.8 of them saturated. (Yeah, yeah, I've read about how the coconut oil saturated fat is different and supposedly good for the immune system/thyroid, etc... but for folks who watch their sat fat, there it is.)
However, I can't fault the taste. Really nice. My mom used to make homemade coconut candy with fresh coconuts, Caribbean style, and it had that same chewiness and coconuttiness and simple list of ingredients. However, mom's had tons of sugar...it did verge on too sweet to my adult tongue (though not my child's taste buds). This is more suitable to my grown-up desires for less sugariness. These are organic and vegan and, well, fun.
Now, if they could only make it more pineappley so it's like a pina colada, that would be nice, huh?
Enjoy.

decent healthy snack for coco loversMar 17, 2010
By G. Keida These are pretty tasty. They mostly taste like coconut and not the fruit flavors that are added. If you love coconut the way I do, you will like these. They are kinda like macarroon bars but not too sweet.
