I only say four stars because, as some have mentioned, it loses flavor pretty quickly. It does not have the same crunchy coating and burst of flavor as pleasure gum, but I don't chew it for pleasure--I chew it when I need to clean my teeth or freshen my breath and can't brush. It comes in very handy for this purpose, is minty tasting, and the taste lasts long enough for a nice quick freshen. It is a gum that doesn't contribute to tooth decay, and is even good for your teeth, as far as I understand. It leaves them feeling clean, not sugary. I have been using it for several years, and was so glad to be able to get it here by the bottle. Cheaper than getting the little containers in the health food store.

I've been trying different types of xylitol chewing gums and this is the worst I've tried! The flavor is good and strong at first, but in about five minutes it turns very bitter. So bitter that I just couldn't stand to chew it anymore. And the texture of the gum changes; it no longer holds together. I bought the 100 piece bottle, but wish I hadn't! We chew it for a few minutes after dinner just so I didn't waste my money too much!

...and does it well. As of taste, I would never expect it to taste the same as the chemically flavored products, just because it's natural and it's not meant to be in your mouth for 30 minutes. It really does it's job in matter of 5 minutes, that's it. As of bitterness, I never realized that it tastes bitter, until I read these reviews, and now I'm chewing it and kind of feel the bitterness, but it's not something you "can't stand", it really is barely there. May be if I chewed it for half an hour It would become more bitter, but I don't need to do it for that long.
I like this gum.

This gum doesn't hold it's flavor long, and it gets chalkey if you keep it in your mouth for too long (> 30 minutes or so), but I really like it because it leaves my teeth feeling cleaner than any other gum I've tried.
