5I Can Finally Stop Using Lestoil!Dec 01, 2008
By A*
I will be erecting a shrine in my laundry room to Prowash. It is a detergent washing Jebus! If Oprah was a detergent and came in plastic and was small and kinda colorful, she would be Prowash and her Favorite Things' list would just consist of her!

What makes it such a kick butt product is that it works. It works really well. I have been using Lestoil in my laundry for ages. That too is a great alternative to Prowash, but it leaves the clothes with a truly weird smell, like you just rolled around on a highly polished floor. And that is why I love Prowash. I can finally let the Lestoil go and still get the odor out of my husbands running clothes; I no longer have to threaten them into the washing machine with a shotgun. I also use it when I wash my triplets clothes that they wear to the park. I mix it with Ivory and everything comes bright and beautiful, perfect for them to dirty all over again.

I'm just a regular stressed out woman, who has built a shrine to Prowash that is based in my supreme happiness with this product. Mel Gibson should so do a "Passion of the Prowash." Spread the word to the non-believers!

5Gentler than both Nikwax technical wash and Win, a little does a lot, and no overpowering scent.Jan 15, 2009
By John P. Thiel "John T."
I'm a lifelong endurance athlete, so I really know how to stink up not only my technical athletic clothing, but my dress shirts and undershirts as well. And while I wasn't able to put Prowash to the real test of years old, embedded stink and grime, I found it is yet another great option in the fight to keep my favorite clothes out of the rag bin--where my wife puts them when she considers them too worn or too grimy to wear anymore.

Prowash is gentler than both Win and Nikwax technical wash. Nikwax, notably, I will never use again after it destroyed a favorite old Columbia Titanium jacket. And Win is great, though if you just need to do a regular washing of your sports clothes rather than a decontaminating it of body soil and odor then it's better to go with Prowash and then use Win intermittantly.

As an all around detergent to use every time, on every item of washable clothing, Win is better; but to use every time on just my sports or work clothing I prefer Prowash.

If your work is some kind of manual, heavy labor--construction worker, fisherman, farmer, et cetera--then this is a great detergent for getting the stink out of all your work clothes.

Prowash is also a great value as I found I need less of it for the same amount of laundry than I would need of Win.

BOTTOM LINE: Nikwax, never; Win, sometimes; Prowash, always.

5ProWash is Super-Fantastic !!!!!Aug 27, 2009
By Chris C. "Corkmun"
Purchased ProWash several months ago. Walmart seemed to be the only store to carry the item. Since then, Walmart has ceased to carry ProWash (it figures). I agree with several of the reviewers as far as the cost being a little pricey. HOWEVER....this stuff works!
It gets the stink out.... The trick to keeping the product cost effective is to use it on items for which it was designed. I have used ProWash on workout/performance clothes, bedding sheets, pillow cases,.. moisture wicking socks and underwear. All came out of the wash with the desired results. I figured the best test....the one that would truly define this product.....is the ice hockey equipment test. Anyone who has been near ice hockey equipment knows what I am talking about. I don't care what you do, wash, air out, place outside in the sunshine, etc. it seems you can never get the "STANK", yes STANK, not stink out of your equipment! I proceeded to wash All of my equipment (pants, moisture wicking undergarments, hip pads, shoulder pads and even my gloves. After that was all done, I washed the equipment bag. Voila!!!! ALL THE STANK WAS GONE ! Best of all, ProWash did not add a perfume smell to the equipment.
Any product that can de-stank hockey equipment is a product that truly works. This type of heavy duty washing is where ProWash excels. I'll continue to use the "normal" wash detergents for the "normal" clothes like(jeans, shirts, etc). For my special clothes/gear I will continue to use ProWash.
In the words of Arnold S...."It's Super Fantastic"!

3Eliminates Odors, But is it Worth the Money?Dec 07, 2008
By Bryan Carey "Bryan Carey"
Pro Wash Activewear Detergent is newer detergent that claims to remove odors better than other detergents by breaking them down chemically and removing them from your clothing. It also claims to restore the fabric wicking to your clothing, reduces fading, and helps to restore the garment's original shape. It is highly concentrated, requiring only a small amount of detergent per load and it is packaged in an earth- friendly way that helps to minimize space and reduce negative impact on the environment.

The above claims are pretty impressive, but the only way to test them is to sample the detergent and see if it does, indeed, do what it claims. And now that I have used Pro Wash Activewear, I can agree that it does do a good job eliminating odors and it is packaged in a way that minimizes harm to the environment. With the scent, very little remains on clothing. It is rinsed out almost completely, leaving behind clothing that smells like clothing, further proving that the odor has been eliminated and isn't just covered up, like other detergents are known to do.

Pro Wash Activewear Detergent is highly concentrated and it takes very little to wash a load of clothing. But one must be careful when dispensing. This liquid is as thin as water and it flows very quickly through the small, round opening. To help with measuring, Pro Wash Activewear Detergent has a window- like opening on the back of the pouch that marks the number of units. So, after pouring out a small amount, just stand the pouch on a flat surface and see how much you have used. This system isn't perfect because it could result in having to pour a little more, then a little bit more, etc., to get the desired level and, if you pour too much, you obviously cannot remove it. I recommend using your own measuring device to get a more accurate measurement. This system isn't very efficient on its own.

While Pro Wash does perform nicely in the odor- reducing department, I cannot necessarily say that this detergent is worth the money. I like that it is highly concentrated and packaged in an Earth friendly manner. But is it good enough to justify the high price for a detergent that, when used in a top loading machine, is good for only twelve loads of laundry? Perhaps if I was more active and truly needed the odor- fighting qualities of Pro Wash, I would like t better than I do. But as it stands, I consider it an average product. It does live up to its claims, but it is tough to justify the high cost when there are other detergents that clean and eliminate odors equally well at a cost less than half as high.

5makes the sweaty clothes fresh & cleanDec 12, 2008
By Colleen M. Schneider
I normally buy All, in one of those scents like rain-forest or something like that and it works great, no complaints...but thought I would try pro-wash for my work out and yoga clothes and my husbands bike clothes. Ok, we are not supremely sweaty people, but they were dirty clothes, so we measured out the 2oz, which by the way is marked on the side of the handy little pouch and let it do it's thing.

I will say that I don't like heavily scented detergents and I do not use dryer sheets because the detergent bothers me, but this detergent was fine. I found it fresh smelling but not overly frou-frou or strong, and it didn't seem to bother me at all.

All and all, good product, did a good job on our work-out stuff and was not too fragrant.

I will definitely use it again for my workout attire as it is supposed to be better for the fabrics.
