Capote CapersDec 20, 2007
By Cholula The picture Reese Capote Capers, 3.5-Ounce Jars (Pack of 12) of this item showed Non-Pareil capers packed in balsamic vinegar. What was shipped were actually the larger, less desirable Capote capers. Plus they were packed in white vinegar and not balsamic as pictured. But the capers are of very good quality nevertheless. Just wasn't what I expected.

Big tasty capers but very salty. Dont like the jar and that they are not sealed. Two leaked.Aug 13, 2010
By G0NZ0 This capers are twice the size of standard capers you buy in stores, and very convenient in the price. I find them a bit too salty, even after washing them off, but most canned products are salty.
One thing that I personally dont like is the jar: it is so tiny and long that it gets hard to pick up few capers. I usually pick up some with a fork, this way those left in the jar will remain in the liquid and last for longer. The jar small opening makes it difficult to reach them even with a very small fork. In this case, also, the capers at the bottom seem to get stuck in the jar.
Another thing I don't like is that they were not sealed. This makes them less hygienic and especially easy to leak, in fact two jars leaked half of their liquid out during shipping. Not pleasant, also because they will last less without their preserving liquid.
As noted by another person, the liquid they come in is not balsamic vinegar (like the picture claims) but a less expensive mix of: water, acetic acid, salt.
Overall I would still recommend them, despite they have some cons.
capers at half costMay 07, 2009
By From The Tree House Good flavor, quality, and size. Sold in glass jars which is a must. Amazon cost is one half the cost of markets.

We often have nutritious and low calorie smoked salmon for breakfast or lunch. The Reese's Capote Capers are our favorite addition to the plate! We have tried a number of different brands, but these are our favorite and also low calorie too.

By grumpyrainbow They are capers. Nice to have on hand if you use them. They will last forever. Amazon did a great job shipping the glass containers.
