4Where's the chili?Nov 04, 2010
By Stephen Wimmer "Stephenish"
I was expecting some heat with these sardines. I was disappointed. These sardines are pretty much swimming in tomato soup. I dump two cans into a bowl and call it a meal.

Maybe not so good as a portion of sardines, for a lunch or snack
(Heavy on the tomato sauce, light on prime fillets of sardine)

BUT, I have found this to be a great condiment:
-the perfect size for building a stew
-contains tomato product
-enough moisture to deglaze mire poix
-sardine flavor (as you might add anchovies)

1so-so tasting fish... with bad sauce...Dec 20, 2011
By mercsinc
first, lets talk about the fish. i eat a lot of sardines and i was just giving these a try... the fish does not taste very good. i can tolerate a high fish taste, but the ones in the Roland cans taste pretty bad... very2 fishy.

now, lets talk about the sauce. the description says "sardines in tomato sauce with chili." to give you a heads up, there was no chili. not even a little hint of it in the sauce. it was bland tomato sauce and lacked any seasoning. i expected a bit of a kick from the sauce but i was disappointed. its better to go with the Ligo brand if you want to at least taste a bit of the chili.

so... now i have a lot of sardines that i dont like.
