4excellent bath tissue even if a bit rough for some peopleAug 04, 2007
By Matthew G. Sherwin
Scott makes a great toilet tissue: it seems that I get longer use out of a roll than when I tried other brands such as Charmin. The roll is thick but it's easy to store in the 20 roll plastic bag it comes in or you can unpack the twenty rolls and store them in various bathrooms or closets around your home.

As at least one other reviewer has noted, there is a slight trick to starting the roll. The actual roll of toilet tissue comes wrapped in paper. Therefore you first unwrap the roll of toilet paper; and when you unwrap that roll, the first few sheets of the toilet paper are stuck to the rest of the roll by a very mild glue. Nevertheless, I have had to carefully examine the darn thing to decide where the roll begins and where to pull away the first few sheets of toilet tissue. Ay!

On the bright side, however, this toilet tissue is easy on your toilet pipes and I've never had a clog. Don't use too much or you WILL get a clogged toilet--but you'll be able to use it well intuitively.

Naturally toilet paper never "goes stale" or "wears out." If you can catch a sale on this item and you like it, stock up!

The only real drawback which turns some people off is that the actual toilet paper itself is not as soft as some other brands--like Charmin. This is totally a matter of personal preference. I have used both and both get the job done. However, I noticed that Charmin and similar ultra soft brands seemed to go faster than Scott tissue did. Scott is not too rough for me; but I will take off one star because of this issue to make this a four star review.

Overall, Scott toilet tissue is well worth a try, especially when you get it on sale. Try some today--I hope you are satisfied with it!

1Did you think shrinking the width of the paper would go unnoticed?Nov 21, 2010

It seems that, in order to maintain 1000 sheets per roll, Scott has lopped a half inch or so from the width of the sheets. Do you really think consumers are so stupid that this move would go unnoticed? I've been buying Scott tissue for years, but will be changing to a company that doesn't take such a dishonest approach to raising prices.

5AMAZON PRICE - CHEAPER THAN WALMART + NO HAULING FROM THE STOREDec 29, 2007
By C. Peters "Working 12-5"
I always buy Scott Bath Tissue, anyway! It may not be as soft as Charmin or some of the other softer brands of TP, but it is just fine for our family's needs and besides it just gets flushed down the toilet anyway. I hate changing TP rolls and this way, I don't have to change as often as those softer brands. I am always looking for ways to save money on Grocery/Household items. This saves me only about $10.00 per year but then I don't have to transport it myself from the store. With the subscription rate including free shipping, Scott Bath Tissue white - 20 ct pkgs (pack of 2) is about 74 cents a roll. It costs me approximately 79 cents a roll at Walmart, including tax. So, I feel that this may be a small savings of $ but an added savings to my slowly- getting-older body!

1Way overpriced!Apr 11, 2008

The warehouse club price for this brand is $0.61/roll. Even before shipping and with the 15% subscription discount, this is $0.83/roll. So, it's 36% more expensive here than at Sam's Club. The house brand is even less expensive, at $0.42/roll. So, you'll pay a high price for the convenience of having this delivered!

5Scott Bath TissueAug 26, 2006

This is not something I take pleasure in buying but it is important nonetheless. I have tried every brand out there. Scott, 1000 sheets has my vote. It has the necessary softness and is more than competitive in how long it lasts. The case pack is a convenient way to order. Now, I don't have to add bath tissue to my grocery list every week.
