I got this as part of an Amazon special on SlimFast, and didn't look at nutritional data at the store ahead of time. For anyone else who wants more info before purchasing, I decided to provide it, as it doesn't appear in the item description at this time.
First, taste: Good chocolate flavor, a little sweet for my tastes. I bet that's why Diane Aliprandi's kids like it better than Carnation Instant Breakfast. :-) Anyway, I tend to be a little sensitive to the sweetness of things, so take that with a grain of salt.
This is bizarre, but I've noticed that it has a little bit of an odd smell to it. Not offensive, but lingering... ??
Nutrional info (as packaged, not prepared)
Number of servings per container: 14 (1 scoop or 1/3 cup = serving)
Calories: 110
Cal from fat: 30
Total fat: 3.5
Cholesterol: < 5 mg
Sodium: 140 mg
Potassium: 200 mg
Total Carb: 13 g
Dietary Fiber: 4 g
Sugars: 6 g
Protein: 7 g
Vitamin and mineral content varies from 10% to 100% of RDA. Calcium is 20% and Iron is 30%.
The reasons I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 are (a) cost per serving, (b) the calories to protein & fiber ratio, and (c) the sweetness thing.
Another option to consider is Sugar Free Carnation Instant Breakfast Canisters, not always available in container packaging, but always available in packet form Carnation Instant Breakfast, Variety Pack, No Sugar Added, Carnation Instant Breakfast, Classic French Vanilla, No Sugar Added. The containers have 12 servings per container, 60 cal/serving, 0.5 grams of fat/serving, 12 g carb/serving, 4 g fiber/serving, and 5 g protein/serving. It is less expensive per serving than the SlimFast products (at least in container form), dissolves easier, and is sweetened primarily with Splenda. I find that it keeps me satisfied as well as anything else. I do, however, use 1-2% milk rather than skim when preparing it. Fat is definitely one of the keys to satiety, along with protein and fiber.
Update: Well, I now have to say that this does, in fact, keep me satisfied longer than Carnation Instant Breakfast.

The title says it all!! If you follow the Slim-Fast plan to the 'T' you will lose weight. Using Slim Fast/Healthy Choice diet combined with exercise and more water then I can calculate, I lost 30lbs in 50 days. Of course I was hungry at times which is to be expected when you go on a low cal diet but it was nothing an apple and a liter of water couldn't fix!. My weight fluctuated only by about 7lbs +/- after I went off of Slim Fast. If you want a low cost method of weight lose and you have the self control to follow the plan then this is for you.

I have been taking the Slim Fast shake for the past week and honestly it does control my hunger. But it seems that I do not eat out of hunger but out of habit!

I have a VERY hard time loosing weight, and have tried every diet out there with no results. I have also tried Slim Fast in the past and did not loose any weight :( Then, I saw this and decided to give it a try. I have been consistantly loosing 2-3 pounds/week since I started a month ago!!!!!!!!!!!! I am thrilled! The only way I drink it is by putting it in a blender with ice and milk - it tastes like a chocolate shake (and I am picky about how things taste). I try to replace two meals a day with the shakes, but if I am really hungry I only replace one meal (or have a small muffin or something with one of the shakes). I would strongly suggest that you give this a try!

I wonder why Slim Fast can't seem to provide a decent product that would really help dieters?
Of course Slim Fast tastes good. There are so many sugars in it, you might as well have a little ice cream.
I thought perhaps the high protein mix might be a little different from their regular one. I can't get out
to shop anymore, so bought this one online.
This mix includes sugar as the second highest (in quantity) ingredient.
Really? In a diet shake? Why? Chemical cocktail for breakfast? Here, dear! NOT.
It has several various soy items, which is fine unless you don't want extra soy.
Those with low thyroid or other thyroid issues should check with their doctor before
adding any additional soy to their diets - it can mess up your thyroid levels.
Another sugar: acesulfame potassium, a non-nutrative sweetener.
Another big ingredient is gum arabic. Again, why in a diet drink?
"...The gum's chemical components of glycoproteins and polysaccarides, which give it the consistency of glue, are what make it a good stabilizer for food. Like gelatin and carrageenan, gum arabic can be used to bind food substances as well as to smoothen textures, or to hold flavoring. The gum is used in soft drink syrups, chocolate candies, gummy candies, and marshmallows."
So, an artificial food thickener that is normally used in syrups and candies. More sweetness.
Then, the final nail in the coffin: ASPARTAME.
Yes, with all that other sweetener in there, they also add aspartame!
I am allergic to it, so this is just a mess of a product for me.
Yes, I bet kids will love it - why not? It's pretty darned close to a chemical Burger King milkshake.
The only redeeming quality is the fiber. Yes, it tastes good, but it should. Again, enough junk to
equal an ice cream shake or a burger. Less calories, more harm.
Come on Slim Fast. People trust your name.
Why not give them something decent to trust in?
