A Different FlavorJun 20, 2008

We like the ranch and bacon flavor, but it is not what we usually think of when we think pasta salad. We think of something more Italian than ranch when we have pasta. Try it, though. You may love it if you are fond of ranch flavors.

I'd rather be served a plate of garbage from the dumpster.Oct 08, 2010
By Bailey M. West I am a HUGE fan of Suddenly Salad Classic. In fact, I probably make it 2-3 times a week. I often add things in like cheese, or sunflower seeds - I've tried it and loved it all.
Sooooo, I thought why not try a different flavor? That was a terrible idea.
I should be clear that I am in love with bacon. I could eat it for nearly any meal. This tasted like imitation bacon flavored dog food as opposed to a refreshing bacon/ranch blend. I mean to tell you, it's as if you are eating something that is ransid and synthetic all at the same time.
I rarely find any foods I don't like. I am a gourmet eater, I love all kinds of flavors, textures, etc. This was hell on earth.
I don't understand it. It's just a pasta salad. Ranch = safe. Bacon = safe. Pasta = safe. This combination should be......safe.
Don't waste your money, or risk your health. If you are interested in something like this, I suggest the following:
Boil 8 cups of water. Cook one pound of pasta. Drain, and rinse with cold water. Blend in 1 to 1.5 cups of ranch dressing. Mix in chopped up bacon (made in advance). Then stir in whatever else you want (peas, celery, etc.).
As far as Suddenly Salad Classic, that is really refreshing and tasty. Go for it!!!

Beware of the "Suddenly" partApr 24, 2009
By Special K We tried this a couple times, but we have a SUBSTANTIAL preference for the Kraft Bacon Ranch Pasta Salad. It's the same idea as this, but for some reason the Betty Crocker Suddenly Salad gave our family upset stomachs both times we tried it. In fact, my kids started calling it "Suddenly something down your leg", which is what it is known as to this day in our house. The sad part is the Kraft version is MUCH harder to find, but definitely superior. Check out the Kraft one - more delicious and less crampy results.

Instead of mayo, use Banana Yoplait Yogurt instead.Aug 18, 2006
By James McDonald This is a delicious, easy pasta salad to make and it only takes 21 minutes to make until you put it on the table. The Bacon taste really its the spot. Just follow the easy directions on the back. Health Hint: May I suggest instead of adding 1/2 cup of mayonaise, use Banana Creme Pie Yoplait Yogurt instead for a real tasty treat. Put it in the freezer for 7 minutes to serve cold.
Does anyone else taste rubbing alcohol in the new ranch sauce recipeFeb 01, 2011
By lmwarner70 I have always LOVED this and all of a sudden I made it last night and both my son and I had an after taste of rubbing alcohol when we ate it. I am not sure if it is the new ranch seasoning (because they have changed it from when we used to get it back in the 90's) or what the deal is. I was just wondering if anyone else noticed this?
