 Fragile item & impossible to ship small box without some broken cakesOct 12, 2011

I would do subscribe & save if Amazon offered it because I buy a box every 2 months or so. They are same taste and quality as major brand such as Quaker but cheaper than generics at grocery store. Grocery stores get their cakes in boxes on pallets which is why they do not have breakage, but buying these you need to realize they will be shipped as a single box and there will be broken cakes. If that is an issue you should buy them at a store and never online unless you buy a pallet load. I personally don't mind because I usually break my cakes up anyway as I snack on them I tried but I just couldn't get a whole cake to fit in my mouth-lol). I do on occasion want solid cakes for doing a little mini pizza rise cake and there are plenty of whole piece cakes to make it very easy to do. I have ordered at least 6 boxes of these at about one box every 2 months and my "guesstimate" would be 10-20% breakage but you can easily get one whole tube of solid cakes and then get one whole tube of almost all broken. It just depends on location of each tube in box and where the delivery people drop or stack on them at.

I had loved the Mother's white cheddar rice cakes and bought them regularly. However, they seem to have been discontinued. I looked at many of the other brands, but the white cheddar ones always had a list of ingredients that included a large number of things that were pretty unnatural. Mother's was owned by Quaker, so I was hopeful that I could substitute in there, but I didn't like their extensive ingredient list for what should be a simple, natural food. The more natural rice cakes didn't come in white cheddar. I found these online and ordered a case and was pleasantly surprised. They are brown rice-based, and fairly healthy. The cheddar flavor is both baked-in and powder form, so the flavor is more spread out throughout the rice cake, with extra bursts from the powder. As with other white cheddar rice cakes, the powder does get a bit messy (though there's less powder than the Mother's brand had, so they're less messy than I'm used to). My only complaint is that the cheddar is less sharp than the one used with the Mother's brand, and I did prefer the sharper cheddar.
I love these rice cakes. And the ingredients are good enough that I feel completely comfortable with these being a regular snack for my 1-year-old as well, and she also loves them!

These Tastemorr rice cakes are thicker and more substantial than national brands. They have a slightly softer texture and a great rice flavor. The cheese is integrated into the cake providing more consistent flavor. A few cakes were broken in transit, but no more than I've noticed on the store shelves.

These rice cakes are just plain delicious. Brown rice, so my wife can't complain (in fact she likes 'em too). As the previous reviewer said, the cheese is incorporated so that it doesn't shake off and make a mess. In all respects, these are A-1 steam-driven good!.

Super delicious & not as messy as the Quaker white cheddar rice cakes (which are good but leave you covered with cheddar powder). Also whole grain, low fat...I can't get enough of 'em.
