I fell in love with Tortuga rum cakes during a cruise many years ago. It is now a tradition for me to ship cakes to my family for Christmas. I stuck with the original reciepe until this last Christmas. I added the chocolate rum cake and the pineapple rum cake as presents. I didn't get to taste the pineapple cake but my mom and brother who got to taste both strongly agreed that the pineapple was super moist and had more of a rum flavor than the original and the chocolate cakes. Needless to say, they have place their orders for this year's Christmas.

These cakes are moist and flavorful. Not too heavy with pineapple flavor, but very nice with coffee most anytime of the day.

Good cake. It's worth every penny. It's actually cheaper than directly from tortuga itself. It is very moist and still moist after a month opened.

sorry guys, this tastes nothing like pineapple. in fact, the original has more flavor! i'm not sure why. i prefer the gold bar version of tortuga's original over this. i'm not sure if i want to try anything else after this disappointment, since i might not even taste the "flavor." it was moist, i could taste the rum, but there was no pineapple flavoring. i could taste the plastic storage wrap more than i could taste any so-called "pineapple."
it was pretty surprising since these pineapple cakes sell out so quickly on amazon.
i do recommend trying the gold bar, though. it is shaped like a loaf and is insanely moist and flavorful.
i'd give the flavor two and a half stars if i could. tortuga's original is still amazing, so don't let my review stop you from trying the original or maybe the other flavors.
