Description:

Ceylon tea comes from the country that today is known as Sri Lanka. Twinings Ceylon tea is made using the finest quality high grown teas from the Dimbula region in western Sri Lanka. In the 1870's, Ceylon became a major tea producing area after the coffee crop failed. Its tea is still referred to as "Ceylon" despite the country changing its name to Sri Lanka in 1972 following independence. Ceylon is ideal to drink at any time of day and is great for ice tea too. Drink black, with a little milk and sweeten to taste.

Features:

Case of six 20-count boxes (total of 120 individually wrapped tea bags)

Smooth blend of carefully selected Ceylon teas

Bright, amber tea with a delicate flavor

Natural source of antioxidants

Sourced from the Dimbula region in western Sri Lanka

4good any time of day, solo or accompaniedJan 10, 2007
By Ace
A nice, medium-strength black tea. Not as strong as 'breakfast' teas, good any time of day. I drink it black, either by itself or with food. To my taste, this stands alone better than Twinings' 'English Afternoon' blend tea, which is of similar body.

This was a better unit price than the Twinings I can find locally. I didn't give this the highest rating simply because there are other brands that I think are higher quality, but this is still a very nice, high-end tea. (And easier to find.)

4Nice and old-fashionedJan 09, 2007

Sometimes it's necessary to turn away from so-popular blends, and enjoy this old-fashioned classic. It has nice body, and does not leave stains as much as other bagged teas. It allows to make a cup of very decent tea fast, however it's not as good as one made from loose bulk tea.

5Try with mintJul 23, 2008
By Ayah David
I love the light-medium body of this tea. I agree with another reviewer - I have never had a bitter cup of this blend. Try it with a bit of fresh or dried mint but don't add too much or it will make it taste bitter. Great for the afternoons. I get many compliments when I make this blend for my guests.

5Superb Tea!Apr 24, 2008
By Creighton Lovelace
This is rather expensive in our local grocery store (Ingles) and I cannot even find it at Wal-Mart! But here on Amazon they've got the BEST deal and man what a smooth taste! You'll love it! Hey try out my tea:
Lovelace's Southern Sweet Tea
Ingredients: 3 Twinings Ceylon Orange Pekoe Tea Bags and 1 1/3 cup of sugar (or Splenda or 2/3 Sugar and 2/3 Splenda to cut calories)
Directions: Pour full coffee pot of water into Coffee maker, put 3 tea bags in drainage area. Allow Pot to fill with Hot tea. Meanwhile, put 1 1/3 cup sugar in your pitcher (or container) after tea's done brewing pour in over sugar. Mix well to ensure sugar has dissolved. Next, pour in enough cool water to fill or for iced tea put in enough ice cubes to make it. Makes 1 gallon of Sweet (southern) Tea. YUMMY!

5The Best Black TeaMar 15, 2011
By Michael Watkins
Twinings Ceylon is the best black tea. Hands down, this makes the best brewed black tea. My wife and I have tried many fine teas and this is our absolute favorite. We have given this as gifts which has converted other followers. If you like or love black tea, you will love this one. It makes an excellent iced tea as well. Give it a try.
