 What did they do to this once great product? UPDATED 2012!!!May 23, 2009

Once upon a time this was such a wonderful product.
The old Chocolate Twizzlers were much stronger in many ways. Taste yes and also in product 'behavior'.... The old product was 'tough' to pull apart... it actually had a 'snap' to it... This new 'stuff' behaves more like play-dough -- really 'squishy' and not in a good way. :)
All I want to know is who is responsible for such a blunder and have they been fired yet? (kidding / well sorta)

Okay... I can't believe they (may have) actually listened! I got a letter from Nestle back in Dec 2011 that they've reversed their changes to this great product and to look for new packages that have the tag line NOW WITH THE CLASSIC TWIST... Well being in the middle of a home sale / purchase and all that goes along with that ... Chocolate Twizzlers weren't at the top of my priority... However now I'm going out to find a bag with the new tag line and I'll report back ASAP. With any luck this 1 star review will be reissued as a 5 star. ... Fingers crossed.

I was looking for the original Chocolate Twizzler's not the new one now produced by Hershey, the picture showed original bag without the Hershey label and when I received the product it was the new one not the original. There is a definite difference in products.

I, along with many others it seems, emailed Twizzlers when they changed their chocolate Twizzlers formula and made the twists with open ends. I kind of forgot about it and converted to eating the strawberry ones because I just hated the new formula. Well, they must have kept some kind of database because that was like several years ago and I just received a letter stating that due to consumer response they were bringing back the classic twist! I also received a couple of coupons. I must say I was impressed! I did just find them in the store and they have the old shape back and I'm pretty sure the old taste too although the package still says "made with Hershey's syrup" and it didn't used to say that. Another co-worker tried them and she too, thinks it is the old formula. Thanks Hershey's!

Wouldn't you know it. Why do people try to improve on perfection? These don't taste the same (much worse, I think) and they don't have the same texture. If anyone out there knows of chocolate licorice the way it USED to be, please let me know. Twizzler's lost a customer!

A few months ago I wrote a email to Hershey about the new taste of their chocolet twizzlers and I told them why did they change the taste of them. They told me that they did not know of any other complaints and also sent me some coupons so I can get some free bags. But I told them in another email that I did not need their coupons because I was not going to purchase them again. I told them that as a kid I always loved to eat them and enjoyed the taste. Why in the world would someone decide to change them and even the texture was horrible like jello...so a few days ago I receive a letter from Hershey telling me that because of my letter and other feed back from others they're now bringing back the chocolet twizzlers as the classic. They sent me some free coupons..they could not of made mt day....just hope that they are as good as the original and to make sure I buy the ones that say classic on them. I am truly glad that there is a least one company that listens to the consumer...
