Top of the line Whole Food Canine suuplementMar 22, 2010
By Lytle Dawg As a natural health care practitioner I am very knowledgeable about the composition of supplements, and will not personally take anything that is synthetically derived, and I feel what is good for me is also good for my dog. It is very difficult to find this sort of high quality product for pets. This is a top of the line nutraceutical that is of superior quality that I would take myself. It is made of organic foods. There are NO synthetic vitamins or minerals, just good nutrition with whole organic foods. My dog has no complaints about eating it and so I feel good that she is getting proper supplementation and good solid nutrition. There are less than a handful of products that are of this superior quality. I rotate them, because the other formula has glandulars in it that this does not, and she needs to have that supplementation.

Better than antibioticsJul 02, 2008
By Chrissy D Three weeks ago I started giving this to my dog. He had a terrible skin rash on his belly that looked like hot spots. After finishing up a course of Simplicef antibiotic, I started him on this Udo's Choice, and three weeks later his skin is still doing wonderfully. Maybe the Simplicef worked really well this time, but we've done the same course of antibiotics more than twice before with lackluster results. Never have I seen him this cleared up three weeks after. One unexpected benefit is that he's more regular due to the added fiber. It certainly has good ingredients. He doesn't mind the taste, so as long as I can continue to find a source to buy it, we're going to keep him on it.

elderly dog who had acute pancreatitis last springJan 04, 2012
By rural girl My yellow lab, Jesse, is 10 & had a really bad year last year; he almost died from an acute pancreatitis infection that he possibly got from eating something toxic while hiking - word on the street is that other dogs suffered simularly from eating goose poop ... Anyway, his pancreas will never be completely functioning again so I use Udo's because it has lipase & amylase, 2 enzymes made in our pancreas to help digest food, and basically I'm helping Jesse's digestion with additional enzymes.
Sorry if this has turned into a confusing ramble ... basically, Udo's is made of high quality ingredients and has beneficial enzymes that might be helpful if your dog is older or immunocompromised.
Udo's also doesn't have bad stuff like aspergillus - which I can not understand why anything would have a toxic mold in it anyway ... but some other brands do. Look up aspergillus nasal infections in dogs someday ... really scary ... scary in humans as well.
Have a good day & enjoy your dog as much as you can every day!

Very high quality product; used post surgeryMay 27, 2011
By Jason Combs I can truly say that this product is great. I've used all kinds of powder formula and this, in my opinion, is by far the best. I ran across this product while searching for a supplement for my dog post surgery. My 2 year old Staffordshire Terrier "Dee Dee" ate part of a rug (the rough fibers) and experienced complete GI blockage that required immediate surgery. The vets had to make one incision in the stomach and three in the intestine to remove the foreign body. If you know anything about these 'exploratory' surgeries, you know the incisions are quite large and the internal trauma takes quite the toll. In my search, I wanted something with plant enzymes, trace minerals, vitamins and digestive enzymes. I felt this would be a great combo in allowing for better digestion on higher doses of antibiotics and assist in the internal and external healing process. I was RIGHT. I immediately noticed a difference in her appetite (she loves the taste), her stool looked much better (even on Keflex and Flagyl) and her energy level increased. If I were to guess, most people would buy this product for a skin and coat supplement and rightfully so. However, please do not overlook the other health benefits. I truly believe the vitamins, minerals, digestive enzymes (product must be refrigerated after opening)and other great ingredients helped speed the recovery time by several days. This is truly a great product and the quantity you get for the $ is very, very fair. It'll last you quite a long time. It takes alot to impress me with all the oversold pet supplements on the market today. However, with this product, the proof is in the pudding and I firmly believe it's top quality. Read other reviews online and you'll know this stuff works wonders on skin & coat, allergies, digestion, chewing, stool eating and, in my case, post surgical recovery. It'll be the best money you've spent and the results will be there. I've taken Udo's Choice Super 8 Hi-Potency probiotics for quite some time and feel it's one of the best out there for me. That quality does roll over into Udo's pet products. Try it and see the results for yourself. Thank you Udo's for such a great product!

My Picky Dog Loves It!Oct 08, 2011
By S. Wyatt This is a great product. I had been hoping to get it from my local Organic Supplier but they had stopped carrying it. My Dog Chelsea has allergies and developed a horrible case of eczema which was not being helped by her refusal to eat most foods ~ even turkey at times. So I went out on a limb and ordered this hoping I could coax her into eating it some how. I sprinkled a little on her food the first time (not the full teaspoon) to see what would happen. She gobbled it right up! I then at her next meal sprinkled the full teaspoon on her food and she gobbled it up again! So I give her 1 teaspoon 3 times a day and she has been eating all her meals now :o) I am a very happy Pup Owner! I'm hoping as another reviewer had reported that her allergies will go away over a period of time and her eczema (which actually does seem a bit better 5 days later) will soon be gone as it is really bad.
